I just got back from a spring break vacation with my kids.
We stayed only 1 night in a cabin at the fort (it was supposed to be longer but....life happens) and I had my reservations about staying in a cabin but no more! The cabins were awesome! They were so cute and homey and just perfect!

We toured the campground a few days before we checked in and just drove around a bit to get a lay of the land. On Friday we checked out of the Sheraton and into our cabin. I have nothing but good things to report. It was 10:30am and our cabin was ready. It was clean and even smelled clean - it didn't have that musty no windows open smell some of the hotels have. We brought in our food and settled in. I moved the picnic table over to butt up against the cabin wall and I proped myself up and just enjoyed the peaceful calm all around me. We are campers by nature and we love that atmosphere and it just filled me up with peace and calm. I even fell asleep laying on the bench of that picnic table in the sun. AHHHHH.....

We enjoyed taking walks around the campground. The only noise we really heard at our cabin was the bus but that wasn't too bad (I mean it didn't stop me from falling asleep right?! lol!). I liked the movie/campfire program. I enjoyed the trading post stores and even bought some presents from there. My kids loved playing teather ball out by the marina and we got an ice cream and just watch the sun set.

People were friendly and I miss that about camping almost as much as I miss just camping. I hope we can get another camper soon and take it down there because that would be the most fun! I like hotels but there is nothing like your own bed, your own shower/toilet and if you want something out of the fridge at 2am - you can have at it.

I can't wait to go back there!

Glad you had a great time we also just got back from the cabins our second time we love it:thumbsup2

The Fort does seem to have that effect on most of us. We all get hooked!:cool1:

We found it fit our personalities as well.

We first went to WDW in 2008 - stayed at WL. DH wasn't sure he wanted to go back to WDW. In 2009 we decided to try out FW. We even rented a golf cart from Kenny.

Well, DH is on fire about going back in 2010. He even bought a used golf cart and has been fixing it up to take. The fort feels more like a vacation. We have planned more down time this year to enjoy it more. ..and so DH can drive his "new" golf cart around. At DH's suggestion we even added a couple more days to our week.

:)

We loved the cabins. We stayed theri on our first WDW family trip...we love the space and the price!!!
 :cool1: :yay:  :cool1:

We love the cabins! It would not be Disney without our stay at the Fort.:thumbsup2

I have some pictures I should post. I am excited to go back one day. Now I just have to get my dh on board - he is not a Disney lover or a Florida lover. It's gonna take some time and a whole lot of convincing!
