Forsythia is blooming

I have 2 forsythia bushes in the backyard that have some yellow blossoms on them today. I live in Michigan and this is one of the craziest things I've ever seen! Since when do these bloom in the dead of winter? It hasn' been that warm here - wonder if it could be a sign of a very early spring - I can only wish!

LOL Dan - I was home and trying to stay awake for the "dropping of the ball" last night.

I know it sounds weird but that is what I am seeing when I look out of my kitchen window. I'm going outside in a bit to see if that is really happening.

That's what I was hoping wouldn't be happening! It's been so mild up here too that I keep checking my garden hoping NOT to see my bulbs starting to "peek" through!

BUT I really love this mild winter that we have........at least so far!

I just said to DH the other day that the trees look like they are ready to bud already. Except for 2 snowstorms in the beginning of Dec, it has been warm here too.

I would clip a few of them off and bring them inside....in a vase of water they will bloom out and be a little bit of spring for you
