Wonder how others handle transporting formula for tube feeds? Hers comes premade in juicebox style boxes, needs 30 for a week. Our last trip MAW advised us to have our supply company ship it to gktw. Tried that, when I called to see if it arrived they said no, so i brought it with me (it came halfway through the trip, our supplier is very unreliable). I was nervous to pack it in case luggage got lost or the boxes broke open. Ended up carrying a weeks worth on the plane, but i dont think we were really supposed to do that, dont want to chance being stopped next time. Plus it was heavy to carry through the airport. Looked at shipping it myself, but it was pretty expensive. Plus i would worry it would getmisplaced by the hotel. What do others do?

I think you can take liquid medical supplies through security if you let them know that's what it is.

Are you saying that you took it through before without letting security know?

I just called about this on Friday. You can carry any medical supplies on the flight. TSA has a whole department that handles these cases. Call them 72 hours before your flight and they will accommodate your needs. 1-855-787-2227.

No, when we went through before i read the policy ahead of time and it said you could bring through what you needed for the flight plus 24 hours. Then speaking with an agent about O2 policy i clarified the formula policy, asked did we need a doctors note saying how much we use in 24 hours, and she said there were no restrictions for medical formula to be carried on. We brought a whole backpack through security, they asked why so much and i said the lady on the phone said it was ok. They let us take it with no problems, but i dont think they were supposed to. We got lucky, dont want to chance it next time

They can assign a Care agent to be there with you and male sure you get through without a problem. You just have to let them know in advance so they can have someone there for you.

Ive never heard of a care agent before, you call the tsa number instead of the airline? Thanks for the advice, i appreciate it

My adult sister is tube fed and she travels frequently. She uses a TSA care agent to help her
get through security. She still has to keep a hawk eye on the regular agents so they don't
contaminate the supplies, but you can take your formula on the airplane in a carry on bag.
Sometimes they swab and sometimes they don't. Its a different experience every time.
