Has anyone brought glass bottles of baby formula into the parks? I was thinking that it would be convenient to use the nursette bottles in the parks so we don't need to worry about preparing or refrigeratring formula. I was thinking I would have a week's worth shipped directly to the hotel, but I don't want to do this and then find out that I can't use the bottles in the parks. Thanks!:)

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I was always under the impression that glass baby food containers were the one exception they would allow in the parks, so I'm sure the nursette bottles would also be included in that.

hth.

Thanks. I hope that is the case. I've never traveled with a baby this young before (he'll be almost 6 months when we go), so I never had to deal with formula, baby food, etc. on vacation.

This is exactly what I was going to say. We took glass baby food jars into the parks with no problems and I'm sure the same would hold true for formula.

FWIW, we took playtex nursers on that pre-table-food trip - pre measured powdered formula into them and clipped them shut with "twix-it" clips then just used bottled water at room temp to mix them (we had phased off of warmed bottles to just room temp). Playtex was different than what we used at hom but DS did just fine switching for the trip then switching back at home (of course we tried it well before traveling to be sure). Just wanted to throw out another option. :)

I know when my three year old was born, they had the little plastic bottles that were only a few ounces in them instead of glass. Maybe you could look into that.

Although they have plastic bottles in hospitals, the Enfamil website sells only glass bottles to consumers. It's too bad, plastic bottles would be much easier for travel.

DS will be almost 6 months old when we go too. We are bringing our Avent bottles which are plastic and powdered Enfamil A+(Lipil) with us. Both our Dr. and Enfamil said that after 4 months you dont need to sterilize the water. While we are still doing that here, I dont want to be doing that in the hotel room. We are just going to get a couple gallon jugs of water. Avent has these little jars that hold 3 feedings worth of formula powder. ( or you can use ziplocs) and just put the normal amount of water in each bottle for feeding. We never used the nursettes as I nursed for as long as I could ( He got teeth exactly on his 4 month birthday but I was already switching over to formula)
But Im sure that you will be fine.

I know that you can get into the parks with them! How much does your little one drink in a feeding? Enfamil also sells the eight ounce cans that come in a four pack. We used those the last time we were there. I did'nt have to worry so much about a jar breaking. Good luck, I hope that you have a wonderful trip!

That great to hear - thanks! Right now he drinks about 3 ounces, but he's only 2 months sold. He'll be almost 6 months old when we travel, so I'm guessing he'll be drinking about 6 ounces by then. He is on Enfamil Nutramigen and unfortunately that doesn't come in the 4 can pack. I could bring the powder and use bottled water as others have suggested, but the nursette bottles would be a little easier. At least I know I have options. Thanks everyone!:)
