I know some people were wondering how the rooms would be dealt with after the conversion to non-smoking. We are at POR now in a former smoking room in Oak Manor. Frankly, it smells like a smoking room and it was noticeable as soon as we opened the door. I can smell it and taste it, but so far, no allergic reaction. It is a lovely room overlooking the courtyard fountain and river and immaculately clean. ( i had forgotten how beautiful this resort is:goodvibes ) I may ask later what steps were taken to ready the rooms for non-smoking status besides gluing a symbol to the door.

I hate to hear this, I was really hoping they would do a complete redo of the rooms.

Thanks for the update. When they announced this new policy,I immediately wondered if it was a good move.Under the new policy a smoker can be placed in ANY room and will be on the "honor system" not to smoke in the room.I can't help but believe that some rooms will be smoked in anyway and even though the smoker in these rooms will be assessed a heavy charge to have the room cleaned,my opinion is once a room has been smoked in it will never be the same to a non-smoker.So,it may be that under the new policy MORE rooms may end up smoke-damaged than if they just continued to designate a certain number of rooms as smoking rooms.Has anyone else considered this scenario?

I am sorry but that is so unacceptable. My dd has asthma and if we are put in a nonsmoking that was a smoking, it will be a big problem. I am insulted by the fact that they think this is ok. I would be complaining about it. I usually do not get my feathers ruffled ( you can search all my posts to see) but this just burns my hiney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sad2: :sad1:
