Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

Oh yeah. I saw Edgar once. I know they hang out at a bar in Ballard, but I'm too chicken to go hang out over there. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: It would be fun to see them when the ships come back at the end of the season.

It really creeps me out though to see the Katmai ordeal now. I don't know why. I remember that all the news when it happened. But then again, I do that every season when they have a ship that goes down.
I don't remember hearing anything about it on the news. Were there any survivors?
DH says he thinks Mike was on that ship for Dirty Jobs during the cod processing episode.

There was like 4 survivors out of the 11 on board. It was last October.

It could have been the one he was on. I'll have to go look for that episode now.:banana::banana:

I know! Now you don't have to bring me cherry vanilla dr pepper!

Maybe I bring one anyway, just to make nice. :upsidedow

I still need my windows cleaned, though. I'll let you watch GB in hd.

Hmm, I still no can lift things for 2 more weeks, so I come, I clean then. oooh GB in HD! Although you really should see the screen at my parents house. 160 inches of pure GB heaven... If only GB would wear jeans more often like yesterday. Mmmmm... insert drooling smiley here.

Heh. I don't have 160 inch tv although I do have a big projection screen, it's probably about...10 feet across? I could plug the projector into my pc and we can watch that way!

Ooooooooooooh! That would work too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bigger, the better!

Although now when I see someone in mismatched clothes I ask if they went to the GB school of fashion. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am in need of some parenting advise. DS had a big disappointment today - didn't make it into honors choir. He has been looking forward all year to trying out and how much fun it would be next year. His Jr year. What can I possibly say? He is so very upset. I am upset for him. I know life will go on but this is really big for him both right now and for his next school year. His friends will be in that class and he will not. Help me think of something!

Did the teacher say why he didn't make it? Was it a tryout?

no. She told the kids she would not talk to them about it for 2 days. A cooling off period I guess. My opinion - I think she kept him back in Concert because she needs boys there and strong leaders. She has done this before according to DS. He says he is done and won't be in concert but I am hopeful that he will change his mind by Monday. We'll see, he is feeling pretty burned right now. She may have judged him wrong. I know she wants him to be a lead in next years Musical ( he was this year too). I think she thought he would take this better or at least differently. He is not taking it well at all. This is when it is so hard to be a parent. I really want to fix it for him but I can't.

I understand because I also sing. But there was only once that I didn't make the choir I was trying out for due to my teacher not working with me on the songs.

He can't do concert and honors? Any of us in show choir were also in concert; we were the best and strongest singers and we were needed. Tryouts for show choir were grueling. LOL
I say there's no reason he can't be in concert and honors and be a musical lead.

If I were him I'd ask her to talk to me before the two days are up or I'm quitting on Monday. She shouldn't leave the kids to stew on this over the weekend.

He cannot do both as he does not have the class hours. He is already doing a summer school health class this summer because he has too many fine art credits! But I don't think any of them do both.

His thing is the honors choir gets to travel and his best friends are all in it. He really likes (well until today) the director and felt close to her and so I think feels a little betrayed too. Hard life lessons!

The 3 bass singers that made it will all be seniors next year and I hope in a few hours that will take the sting out of it. He will be a Jr. He can still be in the Musical - I am sure she has plans for him to be - but he is saying he won't do it. Again I hope in a few hours or days or before Musical try outs next fall he will be in a better frame of mind about that too.

I am NOT at all happy with the director leaving this for the weekend! He has gone to his girlfriends house for dinner and I hope she will be able to charm him out of the dumps! She has a much better chance than Mom! ;)

The stubborn part of me agrees with him and says I wouldn't be in the musical, either. :rotfl: Especially if she held him in concert simply because she wants 'strong singers' in there and not because he isn't ready or hasn't got the talent; in other words, she held him back because of her own selfish reasons. Those of us who can sing are not performing monkeys and get tired of those who take advantage of talent.
The adult part of me says he'll move on and he can always try again next year.

I really do hope he will stay with concert and try again next year for Royal. I am not a singer and so don't know for a fact that he is not ready but I do know he does a lot in concert this year for her. Keeps track of music, sets up risers, went with her to see possible Musical options for next year. He gets frustrated when they get goofy and thinks Royal would be more serious. My guess it would be. But Concert is # 2 of about 5 choirs at school, so still an accomplishment. He is not seeing that right now.

Later in the weekend I will remind him how nice it is to have that "easy" class in his day. Especially since he can pretty much do whatever he wants. I hope she will tell him what to work on for next years audition.

Thanks for helping me "talk" about this.

You're welcome. I'm sure he'll move on. Sometimes I think it's harder for us than it is for them. *sigh* All part of being a parent, I guess. :)
