Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

Thanks! Hey, I don't talk about zombies all the time. ;)

I'm sure I'll cry for a minute but really, after working in a funeral home for three years, you get to where you don't think you're old until you hit 80.

80 is up there......and didn't know you worked in a funeral home. Don't think I could do that. Well maybe I could. As for my 20's they were enlightening...my 30's were great and my 40's, all came together and my 50's...well I'M just 1 year into that so we will see. I would have to say I loved my 40's the most...starting from say age 38 :thumbsup2

Don't they say 50 is the new 40, 40 is the new 30, and 30 is the new 20? Honestly I think that's just this culture's way of convincing themselves they're young and hip and relevant.
What's wrong with getting older?
Yeah, I worked in a funeral home/cemetery for three years. Did a bit of everything.

I used to work at a boneyard too. I loved it. Got to do an awful lot of mowing!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINK!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo::yay::cool1::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We LOVE :lovestruc:lovestruc:love: You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're catching up to me, I'll be 31 in June. :faint::faint::faint::faint::faint:

You're between me and DH; he'll be 32 in July. ;)
Thanks for the b-day wishes.

You used to work in a boneyard? That's just too weird. Where at? I worked at one here in Tacoma.

You're welcome. I wish I could come to your BBQ, but my parents are insisting on staying home this weekend for some reason. Everyone else is going to the beach. :confused3

Yup, I used to work at one in Bellingham. I love it. So peaceful, so quiet. I loved working the funerals and helping the families. I wouldn't mind going back to work for one when I'm healthy again or going to work for a funeral home.

PM me what funeral home. Might be the same one; I worked for a company that owns more than half the funeral homes/cemeteries in America.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone! So far my present has been a sewing machine I've had my eyes on.

Which sewing machine is it? I just bought 1 new one and the dealer threw in another one:banana:!

It's addictive. I've been sewing for 38 years and I'm still learning!!! Have fun!!!

I plan to. First thing I'm going to make is probably going to be cloth diapers for my DS. Then I'm going to make a new diaper bag and an apron. :rotfl:

I wish I could sew. I took a two classes at the local community college and I think I flunkthe classes...the things I made I wouldn't wear!

 The last time I sewed with a sewing machine I made a Jasmine costume for Halloween.

Sewing machine? What a great gift! I got one for my birthday a few years ago - and am just now getting the hang of it...oh well! But I love it and I love that I'm beginning to get more creative with it.

NC, I would think garment sewing is the hardest of all - I've never tried it before [I would hate to have to wear what I had just sewn]. My sewing involves straight lines mostly on quilts - maybe you could try something like that.

Hope the rest of your birthday went well, Tink.

And, honu, how's that sinus infection? Did you ever get in touch with your doctor?

Well, I'll see y'all on the flip side - of WDW that is - I leave tomorrow morning [early!] and will be back next weekend and will have all sorts of pictures with which to inflict all of you, my hapless Disney friends and fans.

Have a great trip!!!! Sewing clothing is not really hard. It's much easier if you have a dressmaker's dummy. I've made all kinds of things including cocktail dresses and ball gowns. The most fun is designing the garments.
Right now, I'm getting more into machine embroidery and making rag quilts. The quilts go together so fast and that's good because we have nieces and nephews getting married or having babies!!!

Have fun at WDW. :snooty: Don't fall and skin your knees or think of the rest of us slaving away in bad weather not getting to ride HM or Pirates or anything else. Don't think about us at all.

DH brought me a rose, a card, and two balloons...one is Mickey Mouse. He took me to dinner at Famous Dave's and he also brought home strawberries and angel food cake. :goodvibes
