Mr. Man - you will be greatly missed. I completely understand, however. Please stop by once in a while for the fluff in stuff questions --see below
Inspired by NC State: if you had to pick a decade to live in for eternity which would it be: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s???
Ugh. Read back a bit here..... I knew this ugliness was coming once people couldn't talk about what is on their mind anymore. This is a direct result of the no political or religious discussion rule IMO.
I will no longer be posting on this board. Life is too short to be bored. I am insulted that someone thinks it ok to tell me what topics are permissible for discussion. I understand this is their site, their rules and all. But, I will remember this when making my next DVC purchase. My $, my rules.
I have the same user name at another Disney related site. That is where I will be (until someone insults Ronald Reagan anyways- or this site regains it's sanity.....hehe). BTW, whooda thunk crazy could be this boring?
Good luck to those I have enjoyed so many conversations with (on both sides of the argument). I hope things go well for all of you during these trying times and wish you only the best.
Regards,
Mr Man
HA!!!! yes, i agree that d'land is a must. i have to say, however, d'world has so much more to offer. i love the original, i'm hoping that california adventure improves significantly with the upgrade, but given a preference, i'd go to florida.
for me, hollywood is sorta gross...and you can see grauman's at wdw without all the creepy surroundings
if you wanted to see something sorta hollywood-related in CA, i would recommend the warner brothers studio tour, which is pretty good. and you can find some places to eat that were around in the golden era of hollywood, and that might be fun, but there is also an historic bob's big boy near the warner bros. studios which is neater.
other stuff in the area i would recommend are the getty museum, l.a. museum of contemporary art, and the norton simon.
if you went out to pasadena, you can see a hotel (now condos) which (to me) looks like the inspiration for tower of terror (castle green hotel), the huntington library..stuff like that.
further south there's legoland and the san diego zoo or the wild animal park.
it's all neat, but i might not make the trip here if i lived on the east coast.
and i'd like to change my weather report now. it is extremely windy and some of my patio furniture just moved a little bit.
Have you been to Legoland? I seen it on Jon and Kate and it looks like a lot of fun!

I thought about Donald's, but I've read the menu and don't think we'd like a lot of the food, unfortunately. I have heard great things about Ohana's juice; sounds good. Thanks for the info. on Coral Reef, and the tip on Tangierine. I've never eaten in that pavilion, so I had forgotten that was even there. The juice is awesome. I will also highly recommend Donald's Breakfast at AK. The food was wonderful - dare I say I even liked it a tad better than Ohana.
We loved Coral Reef - was scared because of prior reviews on the Dining Board here - but we all had a wonderful dinner. As for Marrakesh - skip it and try Tangierine Cafe -- my sister, BIL, and I all thought it was 100 times better than Marrakesh (they have the desserts too).
I miss the days of when we used to just go and eat wherever whenever. Stupid dining plan messed all that up.I'm so jealous of you all with your ADRs and your planningI have no Disney trip planned...I'm *gasp* going elsewhere
Hah...and SD, you sound like my family...check out my dining report!! We planned the entire trip around food. Including our counter service!
Thanks, wonder. I wasn't interested in Marrakesh's food, I just wanted to see the inside of it. Never dawned on me just to peek in.i agree actually. for me, there were more vegetarian options at tangerine, and it obviously costs less. the inside of marakesh is neat (but you can walk in and look at it if you want to see it) and they have the show (which is okay i guess), but it's tangerine for me. and the desserts are a must...fruity, custardy, deliciousness.
No, that's not bipolar. Bipolar is characterized by extreme highs (manic) and/or extreme lows (depressive). I had a neighbor a few years ago who was bipolar and schizophrenic; bad, bad, bad combination. A professor of mine said about a year ago that that's pretty much the worst combination you can have.I don't know too much about bipolar disorder. Would a person who shows symptoms of being bipolar start to impersonate other people at all? Just curious. Or is that schizophrenia? Is there a difference?
Thanks for your tips too, breezy. Oh, and TGM is Tour Guide Mike.I remember the eggs being the best ever! I can't do runny eggs either - I've even been known to send back omlettes before if that helps
Well, I doubt it because I have no idea what TGM is.
Coral Reef is awesome IMO! We loved it - we had some service issues, but we don't tend to dwell on the negatives. Food - kicked booty
Dinner is AWESOME, again IMO. Can't get any better than awesome food, entertainment, and getting an incredible view of Cindy's Castle overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon.![]()
Those ADR's you guys have posted look good!
We have:
Crystal Palace breakfast
Tusker house breakfast
50's Prime Time Lunch
Whispering Canyon Cafe Supper
debating about T-Rex.
Prime Time is so much fun! I haven't been there since 2005, but I really enjoy it. We always went just for dessert. Try the smores if you go. They've since cut the portion in half, but it's still too much!that's good to know. We are debating about cancelling it just because we don't want to use up our MGM time since it closes at 7pm the day we're going. I think we're going to keep it and see how the morning pans out and then decide.
Thanks for the review! We're going to WCC on our "off day," so we're just walking downstairs for lunch. That'll be nice.Just popping with my recommendation for Whispering Canyon and PT Cafe - we didn't have too many ADRs on our Jan trip but we did have these two. The time spent at the PT were some of our favorite memories - appropriate snarkiness from the wait staff and delicious milkshakes [the food was good, too]. We enjoyed the WC as well - the roasted chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and seasoned perfectly [and I'm not a big fan of chicken]. The service was fabulous - we had been going strong for 12+ hours by that time and were grumpy and exhausted...our server pulled us out of our bad mood, changed the entire dynamic of our evening.
And wonder - salad AND onion rings - that's two veggies in one meal! Perhaps if you had a milkshake on the side, you'd have a properly balanced vacation meal.
My dad's getting the skillet, my mom and I'll probably get the overpriced ham and turkey sandwich. We love going to WCC and having the endless skillet thingy. We always get stupid and overindulge. You would think we would learn.![]()

Very confused-feel like I entered the twlight zone. Not sure what is happening here.
Mr. Man- I will miss your posts always enjoyed your point of view.
Agent P where in TN are you located. We are planning on going to the Nashville tea party.
Seems like there is good news all around. Honu surgery went well. My husband came home today with no oxygen-he only needs to have PT at the house.
Going to have to go back and see what I missed.
Good wishes to all
Sandy
I haven't been, yet, but I really, really want to. I think they built that new aquarium. I'm not sure if it's inside the park or nearby. Do you know anything about it, Wonder?
