Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

HA!!!! yes, i agree that d'land is a must. i have to say, however, d'world has so much more to offer. i love the original, i'm hoping that california adventure improves significantly with the upgrade, but given a preference, i'd go to florida.

Thanks for the information. When we go to WDW we go for 8-9 days and never leave the WDW area. However, if I go to CA I would really want to site see Hollywood. I could see myself walking down the sidewalk with my mouth open looking like Gomer Pyle on Mayberry.:rotfl2:

for me, hollywood is sorta gross...and you can see grauman's at wdw without all the creepy surroundings :rotfl2:

if you wanted to see something sorta hollywood-related in CA, i would recommend the warner brothers studio tour, which is pretty good. and you can find some places to eat that were around in the golden era of hollywood, and that might be fun, but there is also an historic bob's big boy near the warner bros. studios which is neater.

other stuff in the area i would recommend are the getty museum, l.a. museum of contemporary art, and the norton simon.

if you went out to pasadena, you can see a hotel (now condos) which (to me) looks like the inspiration for tower of terror (castle green hotel), the huntington library..stuff like that.

further south there's legoland and the san diego zoo or the wild animal park.

it's all neat, but i might not make the trip here if i lived on the east coast.

and i'd like to change my weather report now. it is extremely windy and some of my patio furniture just moved a little bit.

We are having strange weather here, too. Just heard an advisory, so, I am assuming there are going to be some storms w/ hail. I can handle that; those tornados are the things that Oklahomans don't like!

Have you been to Legoland? I seen it on Jon and Kate and it looks like a lot of fun!

i keep wanting to go, but have been so limited on travel time this last couple of years, i always have to make a choice between that and something else.

i know people who just love it and it looks pretty fun.

Ugh. Read back a bit here..... I knew this ugliness was coming once people couldn't talk about what is on their mind anymore. This is a direct result of the no political or religious discussion rule IMO.

I will no longer be posting on this board. Life is too short to be bored. I am insulted that someone thinks it ok to tell me what topics are permissible for discussion. I understand this is their site, their rules and all. But, I will remember this when making my next DVC purchase. My $, my rules. ;)

I have the same user name at another Disney related site. That is where I will be (until someone insults Ronald Reagan anyways- or this site regains it's sanity.....hehe). BTW, whooda thunk crazy could be this boring?

Good luck to those I have enjoyed so many conversations with (on both sides of the argument). I hope things go well for all of you during these trying times and wish you only the best.

Regards,

Mr Man

Couple of hours...:car:

How far is San Diego from Disney land?

must be about 100 miles. not a bad drive.

i should have mentioned that warner bros. studios isn't in l.a....it's glendale or burbank or something like that. quite near pasadena.

disneyland is about 50 miles (give or take a few) north of pasadena.

Can I ask a question? Why are all the weeds growin' in this thread? Is there an influx of pasta on the other thread? Just wondering....:confused3

If I visited I would love to visit the old Hollywood places. I'm a TCM junkie.

some stuff has been preserved nicely, but things have cropped up in between everything.

would have been nice to see hollywood in the 30s and 40s.

but hey...when they upgrade cal. adventure, the entrance should look a lot more like when walt arrived. that'll be good.

La Jolla reminded me of old hollywood..... They had a hotel that was pretty famous back then I think. Been awhile since I've been there though, so things may have changed....

la jolla is nice, and their downtown is a nice place to walk around and window shop...have a bite to eat...purchase a pre-production illustration of the alice animated feature...have another bit to eat 'cause you just spent way too much and you need to eat away that uncomfortable "i just spent too much" feeling......

Mr. Man - you will be greatly missed. I completely understand, however. Please stop by once in a while for the fluff in stuff questions --see below

Inspired by NC State: if you had to pick a decade to live in for eternity which would it be: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s???
