Is it too cold in Dec for a SBP ceremony? How about teh dessert party? Too cold at night? Or ok with a sweatshirt?

ANyone use Sunset Pointe at the Poly? Too windy or cold in December?

I was married on Dec 4th & the weather was warm (70s)
When we went for our 10yr it was near 80s
the nights get pretty cool (50s)
december is a really unpredictable month but im sure you will be fine, just plan ahead in case it gets cooler out;)

I was married on December 7th 2008. It was in the 60's during the day but sunny so it wasn't bad. There was some wind but nothing too crazy. For the dessert party, it got cold. I warned everyone in advance so they brought sweaters and wraps. It was in the 50's. I'm from NJ so to me, 50's isn't that cold but the family from Florida were chilly but with the hot chocolate/tea and coffee everyone seemed ok.

You can rent heaters for the DP but that can get expensive.

myprincessgirllisa is totally right. We were there last year in the middle of december for two days straight it was warm and we wore summer clothes then the next day it was FREEZING and we all had lined pants and heavy coats and were still cold. The weather is really unpredicatble it can be really nice or really chilly. I would always plan to have a jacket at night in dec.

We are considering a dessert party in the beg. of Feb. I am going to just budget for the heaters.

the weather is so unpredictable. we were married at sbp at the end of january. in the morning when i was getting ready it was kind of cold, but by the end of the day it was REALLY hot and our guests were in shorts.

We were married December 18th and had a DP on December 17th at Epcot. The night of the 17th my guests said they were a little chilly out by the lake with the wind, me personally, I was so excited for the wedding the next day I kept saying 'How can you be cold??? I'm burning up!' and I was in a strapless-knee length dress! lol

The day of the wedding was perfect. Not cold at all. Probably in the 70s. I got a little hot/sweaty under my crinny, but otherwise it was perfect!!! As a note, don't worry about guests getting dehydrated, Disney puts a beautiful water cooler at SBP for your guests. :)

We got married on 12/6 many moons ago. Most everyone had short sleeves, and we lived in warm climate. Probably mid-upper 70s in the day. Dessert party at UK Lower that night and everyone was fine there except MoH who had 1 inch strap shoulder dress - she added a wrap. I had a wrap just in case but didn't need it. We've been back on the anniversary many times and have had very few trips where we needed jeans except on a few nights, and have never needed more than a light jacket. Funny, but the only really cold trips we've been on have been in March!

I wanted to add that just 4 days after our wedding, on December 22nd, we went to watch Illuminations again and it was FREEZING! We spent most the evening inside Rose & Crown to stay warm, then grabbed 2 hot chocolates just to help us make it through the show. So it just goes to show you how iffy it can be. Beautiful one night and freezing just 4 nights later!

We were married 12/6/08 @ SBP and as everyone else has said the weather is always unpredictable. Friday for the rehearsal @ SBP everyone was comfortable (it was upper 60's, low 70's) for the rehearsal dinner @ the Attic. But by Illuminations time (9:30 b/c of Holiday hours) it was chilly for anyone who wasn't a northerner (or whose blood has been thinned like mine thanks to moving from NY to Fla 8 years ago). Basically, I was one of the only people w/ a coat on to watch them and it didn't get cold enough to warrant heat lamps.

To show you how fast the weather changes:
Our wedding day was perfect! It was mid to upper 70's w/ a light breeze. Just gorgeous! However, Sunday was FREEZING! It was sunny but probably only hit 60 during the day and was into the 40's at night.

Regardless, I am so happy to have been a December Bride and to have had a "winter" wedding! :goodvibes

I got married December 18, 2008 and the weather was perfect (high 70's to low 80's). We had a firework party in the evening and had arranged for blankets to be available in case it was cold, but I don't think anyone used them. I was in the strapless dress and was not cold at all in the evening. We were at Disney for a week before the wedding and I don't think it was ever cold during the day, though most of the nights were a bit colder than our wedding night.

However, I used to live in Florida and sometimes in December it can get VERY cold (as in winter coats are needed). You just have to prepare for everything and hope the weather goes your way. :goodvibes The one good thing is that there isn't much rain in December!
