Former Disney worker killed by firework

Yes, must've blown at least part of his head right off.

Always can tell that happens when they say "died instantly". :guilty:

Sad for any young man of that age to die so senselessly.

Here in Boston we had a nine year old blow his hand off with a fireworks explosive he found, and a five year old boy with him may be blind.

Rude. And it's herd.

Thank you for the lesson in grammar, I'll tell my iPad to not autocorrect.

Not rude, the truth. Some idiot puts an explosive device on his cranium and blows part of his skull off & I need to feel bad - nope! Don't want those genes in the mix

I read a different article about him and just had to wonder about some people.

Although the article I read didn't mention he previously worked for Disney. I'm not sure how that relates.

Giants defensive lineman Jason Piere-Paul injured his hand with a firework this week.

When I was in high school, somebody blew off some of his fingers... in class.

yeah, the news around here has not been happy for the past few days. I can't imagine that little boys family!!! And the kid in Maine? Yeah, there was alcohol involved. I know that when I was in Washington state, visiting my brother, they always had great fireworks in the backyard. They went up to the closest reservation and bought them. BUT....my brother had strict rules about the handling of the fireworks....if you drank, you sat back and watched. If a firework didn't go off as planned, an adult approached it, hose in hand, to wet it down completely before going to close to it.
No one thinks it will happen to them....young people just have no idea about bad things happening to them. I remember those days. Man, we were going to live forever..or at least for a very long time!!

Well, I certainly hope that no one with your particular genes makes an incredibly stupid mistake like that young man did! A little empathy goes a long way.

The thing that I find amazing is that with all the discussion about CMs not being able to say what they do at Disney parks, so as to keep
character integrity', all the photos and stories of this young man in character is amazing to me. I wonder if Disney has had anything to say about it.

He was smart enough to have not only landed a job at Disney, but a job playing the part of Gaston! I'd say he was no slouch! :goodvibes And who here hasn't done something really stupid?? I know I have.

I have done stupid things who hasn't but nope never put anything that is lethal on any body part.

Yeah only geniuses get hired by Disney:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The guy made a stupid and senseless mistake under the influence of alcohol and lost his life from it. Regardless if it was stupid and senseless he still DIED and anyone with any sense of compassion would feel at least something sad for the person and especially for his family and friends.

I have much compassion as if he was a drunk driver and ran into a wall. Alcohol may be a precursor to idiocy not an excuse.

Would this much compassion and making excuses be voiced if he had also injured someone else?

Guess I've seen too much of this stupidity alcohol related to feel compassion for the idiocy of the intoxicated

May I add he's not a victim is a perpetrator

Very well said.

Won't it be a kick in the pants if the universe decides it's pretty important to keep a healthy dose of compassion and empathy in the gene pool?

ETA: It's occurred to me that pedophiles and serial killers generally have very good instincts of self preservation. I hardly think that speaks highly of the notion culling the herd being a victory.

Was he the amazing and kind Gaston I saw arm wrestle a down syndrome boy and have push up contests?

Terrible. I'm glad people can't buy fireworks in my state.

I hate stories like this. Regardless of the stupidity of his act, he didn't deserve to die for it.
