Hello all former brides. Can you please tell me if the Cinderella's slipper dessert is as wonderful as it looks? (ie. worth the $17 per person) I think its just magical but we are not having a cinderella theme. Can anyone also think of another theme other than Cinderella. We were thinking something like "Springtime Fairytales" or "Happily Ever After"

I am not doing a Cinderella theme either. If I had my way it would be Beauty and the Beast, but DF doesn't want to be considered a Beast :lmao: . We are doing a Disney Fairytales theme. We are going to incorporate a little of all the Disney Fairytales in our wedding.

Everything I've read about the Cinderella slipper dessert on the Food board (which might be worth searching, come to think of it) says it's very tasty. However, if you're already having cake, I say skip the added expense.

I went to a wedding where they served ginormous creme brulees, followed by wedding cake, followed by a build-your-own-sundae bar. :faint: I'm a HUGE sweets fans, and it was too much even for me!!

Well, we did consider having the slipper dessert. But our cake cost a fortune and we wanted to make sure people actually ate it, so we decided not to have it. Even my mom afterwards said that she probably wouldn't have eaten the cake if we'd gotten another dessert. It wasn't a budgetary decision for us, it was simply a practical one.

Having said that, I have never heard one bride say that they regretted having the slipper dessert. For most who did, though, it was something they wanted from the beginning. It was never even a question for them. But not all of them had a Cinderella theme.

Basically, I have no idea if that helps you or not. :rotfl:

Thank you all for the input. We were always planning the cake since we LOVE the cakes...I also love the slipper dessert and the option to have no cake and just the slipper dessert is not happening!!!! I am more confused now what is a Disney Bride to do! You are right about the budgetary part though we don't care about the cost but realistically we don't want people wasting it either. Hmmmmm decisions decisions

I have read that you can get the Glass Slipper dessert at Cinderella's Royal Table. Does anyone know if this something you have to order ahead of time or if you can just order it off the menu when dining there? I would love to try it and we already have reservations for dinner at CRT.

Yes you can get it at the castle. It is on the menu for one of the dessert items.

I had no idea! I will have to try that.

Belle1981- we decided against the slipper and to do a trio dessert plate. However, we were told they could customize the dessert plate to make it fit with our theme. For example, they could do chocolate molds, decorartions on the plates (an outline of the coach to frame our dessert selection), etc.

oh! All this desser talk has made me hungry!

As far as I know the Cinderella Slipper dessert is NOT available at CRT anymore. That was only for the Disneyland 50 year celebration and since it is over it is no longer on the menu. The menu is a set price with a choice of 3 appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Ok I can actually help with this one:goodvibes

The slipper is still served at CRT... but only for special occasions we got it as part of my proposal package (check my engagement report for pics) It can be pre-ordered I beliee but only for special occasions.

Second.. The slipper at CRT is different than the one a GF. However, it was probably the most delicous desert I ever ate - I cant spell:) I ate it bed that night because we got a desert anyway with our meal and I LOVED it - the mousse inside was awesome! And the cake pillow with the fruit perfectly ripe!

I'd saw if money is not a problem, get it. Its unique and delicous, and your guests can take cake home!

Just my opinion, good luck!

We had the Slipper Dessert at our Wedding and it was fabulous, we also had a 4 tier Wedding cake. I think because it was Disney everyone wanted to taste both because all of our guests told us they loved both. The Slipper is beautiful and a real hit with the guests, everyone took out their cameras and took a picture of it.
If money is not a problem, I highly recommend both.
Good Luck.
