Do they do your formal photo's before or after dinner on formal night? Are there scheduled times or is it a long line? We are cruising with my Sisters/and families and our mom, and I would love to have a wonderful group shot, but I would also like to have just me, dh,dd. And me, two sis', mom/ and my dd and niece(just the girls) as well as a pic of my dh and 2 BIL's (just the guys) is this possible or would it hold up a long line and infuriate other people? It would have to be done on formal night, as I can't see getting us all dolled up again just for pics...

On our 5-1 Eastern they were doing formal pictures pretty much the whole night. We had early dining and so we stood in line to get the picture below for about 25 minutes. We actually ended up being late for our dinner that night and felt badly but we really wanted a picture taken. I would think that it shouldn't be a problem to have a big group picture taken. There was a huge family at another photo op around that probably had 40+ people in it and they did just fine with it. Maybe if you got there as one of the first groups in line it might even be better. I looked at my navigators and saw that they did not have the picture times listed but I'm certain that they did them from about 5 until at least 7:30 or so because we were watching late seating have theirs taken on the way to the Golden Mickeys. There are several places around to have your formal pictures taken with different backgrounds so you could always do the whole family at one and then your seperate family at another one either before dinner or after.

Thanks Heidi! I have seen your photo so many times, you have a beautiful family, there is a guy that I know from my work that could be your DH's twin brother, it's very strange how much they look alike! Thanks again for the info!

YOu are very welcome and thank YOU for the nice compliment! It's funny how people look like others isn't it??? I had a woman contact me telling me I was her sister once (not from here but from another board) and she kept insisting so she sent me a picture of herself and I was floored at how much we looked alike! LOL It was kind of spooky. Did you ever see that Seinfeld where Elaine had the mannequin that looked like her?? LOL

Great idea to get those pix while you have everyone together. You might want to contact Shutters beforehand for info on group photos. Our family of 16 was allowed to actually make an appt. just before early dinner. We also did individual family shots.
Have a wonderful cruise!

We chose to do late dining, and I know that Heidi said that she saw people (late diners) getting their pics taken at about 7:30, but is that as late as they take pictures for the night? Are we in a worse situation because we have to compete with the early diners who are taking their pics after dinner? Or are the lines pretty much the same before both late and early dinners. Can anyone give me the best time to get there for pictures if we have late seating, and when do they stop taking them?

We also had late dining, and there were HUUUUGE lines at every one of the backdrops before dinner. We stood in line, got our photos, went to dinner, and then had another set taken at a different background after dinner. All the lines had magically disappeared. Taking them after dinner, you may run the risk getting dinner on your fancy duds (especially the kids), but it worked out fine for us. :D
