I was wondering how dressed up my family needs to be on formal night, because we have only been on Carnival and would like to know how dressy disney is.
Thanks :rotfl: :jumping2:

Formal night...kids, cute little dresses or suits/tux for the boys.

Woman..nice dress pant suit...to evening gown type dress.

Men..nice suit/tie or tux

Everyone looks so nice on formal night.

What an attractive group! This is a keepsake I can't wait to have, a family portrait in formal wear.

Thanks for posting your gorgeous family pix!

There was a hige range of outfits for formal night but I was very surprised at how many people, including children, wore formal gowns and tuxedos. We weren't planning on wearing formal wear (just a suit and nice dress) but our luggage did not arrive in time and Guest Services arranged for us to borrow a tux and gown. I was glad we did. It was nice to have an excuse to dress up. If you think it is something you will enjoy, by all means, dress to the nines.

I'm not one of them....

I will be wearing a sports coat and tie.....and my kids also...That will have to do....

I wish I could afford the extra money for a tux, but I have myself, and two boys.....The cruise is very expensive, and I would rather spend the money on taking my family on an excursion then to spend it on a one night tux rental.....

I think a tux is nice, but just can't justify the cost for one formal night....That's just my situation..........

We're on the eastern cruise this Sat, and I was not planning on having my kids (9 and 4) with us on formal night. Could any former cruisers tell me whether most parents bring kids to formal night?

Thanks,
MGK

My son wore nice dark pants, and a button down blue shirt with a matching tie (WalMart, $11 for the shirt/tie set!), and black tie shoes.

My DH wore his dark suit, which he also wore to Palos AND on semiformal night, with a different color shirt/tie for each time.

DD wore a green satin cocktail length dress, and I had a full length black and white dress...but both our dresses were from past events.

You don't have to have lots of $$ to dress nice. :) We're far from rolling in the dough, believe me, or we'd be cruising more! *wink*

I believe that most families do bring their kids to formal night, but it is up to you. We brought our kids (ages 11 and 8) and will be bringing them again this October. It was a great night and we were able to get a lovely photo of us all dressed up!

Have fun on your cruise!

We brought our children as well and we did not wear a tux or gown. DH wore a nice sports coat, dress shirt and tie and I wore a nice black pant suit. DS wore dress shirt and tie and DD wore a very pretty chiffon-type dress. We actually thought we would be a bit underdressed, but were surprised to see that about 50 percent of the men, at least, were not in tuxes! It does feel nice to go out with your family all dressed up, and we were in Lumiere's for Formal Night, so it was all that more special;)

PS the pics are definately a treasure to have....
