Formal Night

On formal night are adults allowed to wear princess costumes? I was thinking of ordering this Belle evening gown and my husband a Beast tux but I'm not sure on the rules. I know at Disney adults cannot do this unless it's a Halloween party. Thanks.

Went on our first Disney cruise this past April. I found on Formal Night that there were people really dressed up (women in gowns and men in a tux) and some not at all, even Bermuda shorts and a sneakers (thought sneakers we not allowed). It's all about what you want or don't want to do.

Unlike the parks there's no restriction about wearing costumes whenever you'd like. Only requirement is, if the costume has a mask, you're asked not to wear it while walking about. And, I believe, you must make it clear to others who may mistake you for "real" Disney characters that you are not.
