Formal night on 7-day

Could someone please clarify for me - is Formal night Master Chefs or Captain's Gala? I've read posts which say both!

Looking at Dave's DCL site it looks as if formal night is Master Chef's night and Semi-formal is Captains Gala.

And please notice that the answers are not the same for the Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. According to Dave's site:

On the Eastern:
Sunday - Formal - Master Chef Series menu in all three dining rooms
Thursday - Semi-formal - Captain's Gala in all three dining rooms

On the Western:
Monday - Formal - AP menu in AP; PC menu in PC; and L menu in L
Thursday - Semi-formal - Captain's Gala in all three dining rooms
