I have very fuzzy memories of being 5 years old and have a character breakfast on a boat while at WDW. Can any Disney historians help figure out if I am remembering this correctly?

-It was with my grandparents who have both passed, so any help is most appreciated.

Edit: it was around 1986-88

It was probably the Empress Lilly, which used to do character breakfasts. The boat is still around - it is now Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney!

It existed. We did this back around the early 90's, I can't remember the exact date. I actually have the pic they took outside of the boat before you got on! I remember the boat and the fact my cousin hid under the table because she was afraid of the characters... amazing what stays with you over the years!

Yep, Empress Lilly! They served a character breakfast, it was pretty upscale, at Disney Villiage Market Place (now Downtown Disney). Funny thing, Chef Mickeys was at the Marketplace at the time and it did not have a character meal, go figure.

Definitely the Empress Lilly. We did this character breakfast on our first trip to WDW when my sons were 5 and 2 and the youngest had not yet been born. They are now 27, 24, and 22 so that was a long time ago. I remember booking it at the last minute because we really hadn't planned the trip at all in advance and were overwhelmed by the heat and crowds at the end of August.
Your memory triggered my memory!! Now I have to go dig out the pictures.

The Empress Lily was our first ever character breakfast in 1986. The characters came out one at a time, and were introduced by an emcee. They walked along a stage, then came out and took photos with us. I remember Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and .... The White Rabbit!!!!! We remember how enthusiastic the emcee was over him and we were like what?? But, to this day we always point him out and say his name the way the Empress Lily emcee did.

We have the pennant that we received too.

1) OMG !
2) It has been a long time since I thought of Empress Lilly.
3) What a nice character meal/experience that was.
4) As with others, it was out first character meal experience.
5) I still have a photo of Goofy putting my head in his mouth.
