forgot to mention toilet issue at AKL

Hi All,

In the AKL review I just posted I forgot to mention that it is absolutely true that you can hear your neighbors flushing toilets (which, having lived in Florida, I understand is necessary due to being at sea level and trying to conserve water), but ALSO what happens prior to the flush. At night after we got the kids to sleep we would lie in bed and read or have the tv on quietly and we definitely heard it every time someone used their toilet near us. We were not wigged out by it, but I wanted to mention it as I know some people would be bothered. We were not bothered by noise of any other kind, so it's kind of weird that we heard what we did.

hi - I have heard that complaint before. I wonder if it depends on the room or section that you are in. My husband and I stayed on the 5th floor on the Zebra trail in December and spent time in the room at various times throughout the day without the TV on. We never heard any toilet flushing or any other types of bathroom noise.

It probably does depend on your location. FYI: We were in savannah rooms 4506 and 4508. Also, how many Disney guests are lying quietly in their beds at 9:00pm like we were every night?!

We loved the resort and plan to return, by the way!

LOL - My husband and I are older folks so after walking all day in the parks, we are usually in bed by 9 and snoring by 9:15. So, if you ever hear any complaints about early snorers it may be us. Heck, maybe we even slept through the toilet sounds. We were on the 5th floor in a Savannah view room. Also, you are not the first to post the toilet issue at AKL. I have read it several times before so we actually expected to hear toilets in the background. Glad you had a good time! I think the AKL is now my favorite resorts. Sherry

Never heard a sound on the 5th floor Kudo trail... and I was there for 9 nights/10 days

but I have had what you are describing happen at port orleans... the walls seem thin - if you know what I mean.

We have never noticed any major toilet noise on 5th floor SV Kudu Trail on 3 stays. Since the 5th floor is the top floor in the wings, maybe it is just coming from above.

We've had toilet noises no matter where we stay. From the All Stars to the WL and AKL, so all toilets at WDW are created equal. I think the difference is whether you have above or beside you guest during your stay. You don't always have neighbors so therefore there wouldn't be any noises. I'm sure we've made our share of toilet sounds too!
