Gosh, long time since I was here.

Planning my first trip to Disney. Only been to Orlando once before, with my two lads, and we did Universal then.

Anyway I am aiming to go back in September 2011 (yes, long time away) for 8 days to mark my - cough, cough - birthday. Will be all on my lonesome so plan on making it a nice simple, but busy, week, flying into MCO, using DME to get to the All Star Sports Resort and not really planning to leave the world until I return to MCO.

Have found what I think is a reasonable price for the resort (£424 for 8 nights) so am considering booking that now then waiting for the flights to appear in October (I think) then working out stuff like tickets, budgeting etc etc.

Anyway just saying hello really as I've been away sooooo long. I'm sure I'll be back again with more questions and if anybody has suggestions that'd be great.

Welcome back! :goodvibes

That sounds like a pretty good deal for ASSp. Who are you booking with?

Welcome back Loftus! I even think I remember you as I always thought of Loftus Road whenever I saw you :)

When it comes to looking for the flights later in the year then I quite like Kayak because it will check multiple sites for you (expedia, opodo, airlines, etc etc) and you can set it up to send you an email everyday with a price check on your chosen route which saves having to do a lot of the hunting around yourself.

Thanks for the Kayak tip, looks a good site.

The CO price seems pretty good to me (from a point of view of almost total ignorance mind) but as September 2011 is so far away am umming and ahhing. CO is about £100 cheaper than what I have seen elsewhere though.

Presuming I go ahead and book I'll probably get a flight at the end of October if I can pick one up for circa £500 (hopefully a bit less). Then just not look again!

Well after dithering I thought "What the heck" and booked the hotel this morning :)

Now just got to wait for October to sort out a flight and then think about tickets and trip plans and eating and all the million other things that I'm sure to be pestering you all about!

Still got plenty of time to sort it out.

And don't forget those ADRs - you can make them at 180 days out now! ;)

Congrats on your booking. :thumbsup2 Where are you staying?

Hi - sounds like it's going to be a brill trip!

I too am thinking of planning a "lonesome" trip. Hopefully for this Sept.

Enjoy the planning!

And oh, welcome back :)
