I know the items from France and Germany are bound to be expensive, but are the items from countries Like Mexico and Morroco, who have cheaply priced goods domestically, have cheaper items in their pavilions? Or have the prices been disney-fied?

Actually, you can find a good range of prices in every paviion in World Showcase. Each has inexpensive items, mid-priced items, and very high-end items.

I don't know how the prices compare to what the items would cost in the home countries themselves, figuring exchange rates and all. From what I've seen, the prices are pretty much in line with what you'd expect a similar item to cost in the US. For instance, the Beatles books in the UK pavilion are about what they'd cost in Borders or Barnes and Noble.

I haven't checked out Morrocco, but I thought Mexico was very reasonably priced. Nice woven tunic tops for about $35 or so. I didn't check out all of the merchandise there. I fell in love with the sweaters in Norway -- until I saw the price tags! The "cheapest" I found was $295. A bit beyond my budget for a sweater, no matter how pretty!

The items in Mexico are more expensive than in a market in Mexico, but not more than I'd expect to pay in the US. Plus there's no bargaining in the Mexican Pavilion at Epcot, although I suggested this to a CM from Mexico to make it more authentic.

I was just commenting on how cheap the little tambourines and bongos are in the Mexico pavilion. They also have some burlap-ish pullovers on sale right now for like $8.

Mexico has the cheapest junk. I say junk, because what real use is a 4 foot sombrero, even if it is $5? It is a good place to find cheap souveniers. China has some cheap junk, I mean stuff, too.

I can see it now. I walk into a store in "Italy", pick up something that costs $29 and tell the CM I will pay $14. They sat no, $25. I say no, $18. They say no and I walk away. Then, they come running after me and say $18 is ok. :teeth: I just don't see that happening at WDW, although it happens here all the time. It's a fun game. I'm sure the CMs in all those countries find our way of sale and purchase a bit odd. Why would someone be willing to pay the price on the item?

I really like the little silver store in Mexico. I picked up a couple pairs of earrings on my last trip, one for $5 and one for $6.50. They have quite a range, actually... there is some higher end stuff, too.

At the France pavilion I was surprised to find Escada perfume for the same price as at a department store.
