Forecast - thunderstorms next 10 days

Always tough leaving the Poly; glad that they cooperated on cancellation of extra days. SAFE drive back up to Jersey.:thumbsup2 Gee, could be as far reaching as the Cape/Block Island area on Monday, don't know. Such as shame, as SO MANY have beach Labor Day holiday weekend plans. Beach goers should heed the rip tide warnings and be prepared!:scared1: ALWAYS have a full tank of gas!::yes::
Looks like it may stall off the coast and beat the heck out of our Jersey beaches! We live about 50 miles inland but I secured as much as I could in our yard. Have a canvas gazebo still up.... just gonna have to hope it makes it.

The NHC maps I'm seeing indicate only a 30-40% chance of tropical storm force winds for the southern New England coast, less for the Cape. I just hope we get a bunch of the rain without dangerous winds up here (inland in northeastern Massachusetts), as we're in drought conditions.

Any word on current conditions? In Atlanta headed that way. News is making the entire state sounds like a mess.

Wet and windy with lots of branches down, but not too bad. It looks like it will be wet all day today but I think it will improve from tomorrow out.

Looks like Orlando is right smack in the middle of a huge outer band looking at current radar. That should clear out hopefully in an hour or 2.

There was a southbound accident, south of Gainesville, on I-75, that was blocking traffic at about 8:00am. The rain looks light, right now, on the week side of the strorm near Valdosta. There is a band that has settled in, at least for the morning, grinding over Orlando. It looks to be light rain occasionally heavy at times. I don't see any MESO or TVS warnings moving toward Orlando, but that's what you want to look out for on a radar summary map. Google 'intellicast radar summary.' Days like today are better than 95 degrees 95 percent humidity.

I don't hear chainsaws in the neighborhood. Our 35 foot holly has been topped and the top is now a snag. It's probably a few hundred pounds of 'ruin your day' waiting to happen.

EDIT: The snag is now cut up and in the wood pile. Although it might be bad luck to burn, wood fairies and all.

I hope so. Not looking too promising out there right now...looks like it could just rain all day...but I am sure it won't.

Hope so. We are driving up from South Florida around 1:00pm today.

Awesome, glad y'all didn't get too much in the night. Please be careful, snags are terribly dangerous. I work in forest resources. So excited about starting our trip. Thanks for the update!

Currently in the air and flying over VA. Our flight (9:30am) was delayed to 9:45, but we didn't leave until 10:34. Which is fine, no one's complaining (too much). We were supposed to reach by 12:20, but will not be arriving until around the 2:00pm mark. Just nervous about our timeline more than anything.

If we see any glimpse of the hurricane, we'll let you know. Otherwise, we're flying high and comfortably as of now.

Me too.

About 60 miles from the Jersey Beaches, here in WDW now, due to fly back Sunday morning when the storm is supposed to be sitting off the coast. This storm arrived when we got here and is following us home. Sucks. No other way to put it.

We also have a canvas pop up gazebo on our back deck. It's zip tied down, but I'm hoping the top is still on there when we finally make it home.

I thought it would be gone by 1 or 2 but not looking promising. It just keeps sucking up moisture and is not getting any smaller or moving anywhere northward.

The boys in the band have presented this image. Their neighbor had an uninvited guest. This is through the roof of a rental house near UF. It's a good illustration of what 40-50 mph (gusting to 60) winds can do.

That forecast is perfectly normal central Florida late summertime weather even without a tropical storm. That storm won't hang around all week, it will roll on through within the day. For the rest of the time it will rain like crazy sometime between 2-5 pm and then stop. Yes you will be able to swim.

Yep! Over many Sept/Oct visits to FL, I've learned that the weather people pretty much cut and paste the words, "Scattered showers" and "Possible afternoon T-storm" on every day for those months. Even 1 day during your vacation with just a forecast of "Sunny" is a gift! I've never been, but heard Aug is the same.

Just made it on I75 from Albany Area to Ocala. Interstate was clear!
Thought I would post in case someone behind me is wondering :)
