Forecast shows rain EVERYDAY we are there!

So far it looks like rain EVERYDAY while we are there, and I don't mean "scattered thunderstorms" like FL is known for, I'm seeing rain from the 27th to sept 3! I sure hope this isn't totally accurate since its still 9 days away but wow that would be a total bummer. I can handle the hour or so quick showers but all day would really put a damper on our vacation. We LOVE the waterparks too.

don't worry. When I was looking 2 weeks ago my forecast said the same. It's now much much better for next week.

I know that the thought of weather can put a damper on any vacation... and I am not an expert..

With that said, there is no way they can be giving you an accurate and precise weather forecast 10 days in advance. Weather in Florida tends to swing almost on an hourly basis. They may be right about there being rain, but it could just as easily end up being one bad day, or just sprinkles for an hour or so. We spent 3 days in water parks to go with our days in the parks & loved the water park days... don't lose hope just yet

The last time we went in August, they were saying just 3 days before we were in for tropical storm weather. We ended up with really bad weather for an evening, one other day with sprinkle in the AM for about 3 hours and the rest of our stay was clear sky! Of course, it was so hot/humid I don't believe we will EVER go back in August again... but that's a different story

The forecast always shows a 40% to 60% chance of rain every day. Then, it rains every day for a half hour to an hour, and you shake it off and move on.

We're going the exact same dates.

I have friend who is a meteorologist and he says every day beyond a 5-day forecast is purely crystal ball speculation... Even 5 days out is very difficult to be accurate.

I think it's kind of irresponsible for any entity to even try to predict the weather that far out... They're just swinging in the dark.

The "Old Farmer's Almanac" and Nostradamus both have am equal opportunity of being accurate 10 days out as do modern technology.

Bring ponchos and dont let the weather get you down. Rain in Disney is still better then rain at home..lol We will be down there the same time (we go the last week of August every year) and the only time that we had rain for more than a few hours is when there was a hurricane or a couple years back when tropical storm Faye rolled through.

All I can say is we've been when it rained for a week and we still had a great time, so don't worry too much and as the OP said the forcast can't really be trusted at this stage.

I was interpreting Nostradamus' quatrains just the other day, and one of them definitely says that the weather in Disney is going to be perfect from Aug 27th to September 5th!

Yep, we were there during the famous May 2009 deluge. Non stop torrential rain the entire week. We still had a balst.

We were there last year during hurricane Irene, we had a good storm everyday and a couple huge ones at night , honestly it didn't bother us one bit , if the rain looked imminent we would jump in the queue for hall of presidents , carousel of progress etc to sit out the storm and enjoy an attraction at the same time.

The only time it affected us was our TL day it rained so hard they cosed the pool for a while but by this time i'd been caught off guard in the wave pool and grazed my back and my hubby ( wheelchair user ) was a bit bored ( water parks have nothing he can do)

so we were about ready to head back to our room anyway

Ok...here's the deal. It's WDW/Orlando. It's late August. It's gonna rain, and maybe a really bad thunderstorm will crop up. And it may very well rain every day. That's pretty normal for Orlando in August. Bring ponchos with you. Bring shoes that can get wet. Then go, have fun.
The only time it deters us is if a huge thunderstorm comes along...and that's happened. It's not something you want to be out in.

Looking at a weather forecast this far in advance isn't going to give you anything close to accurate. Start checking it out on the 24th!!! And even then it's not going to be perfect.

To the OP: This topic comes up quite frequently -- "there's rain in the forecast every day I'm going to be at Disney..." and one time I (sort of) jokingly posted that it seems like the long range forecast for Orlando defaults to "40-60% chance of rain" for every day. Then, as the dates get closer, the forecast gets updated day-by-day to give a more accurate prediction. A weather forecast/meteorologist posted that basically that is what happens and that any forecast more than a few days out is really just a guess. In other words, don't worry about the forecast for your dates at this point.

My advice is to be prepared for rain regardless of what the forecast says for the week. Forecasts can change dramatically from day to day -- which we learned during that trip in May 2009. Fortunately, I always plan for rain. I make sure everyone has at least 2 pair of shoes so that they always have a dry pair to put on in the morning. Stuff wet shoes with newspaper or towels overnight to absorb water. Remove the stuffing in the morning and allow to finish air drying during the day while you wear your 2nd pair of shoes. Even my son's leather sandals didn't completely dry overnight. Most of my family members wear sneakers/athletic shoes to walk around the parks all day so I always make sure to pack extra socks so we can at least put a dry pair on when we're back at our room. Invest in good rain ponchos/jackets. The $1 ponchos are great for water rides or those quick FL showers but they don't really cut it for all-day rain events. And I think the most important thing to pack in preparation for rain is a good attitude. You can't control the weather -- only your reaction and response to it. If it rains, grab your gear and head out. Rain seems to keep a lot of people in their hotel rooms and it keeps the locals away so lines are short and many of the TS restaurants are able to accept walk-ups because of so many no-shows and cancellations. Rain won't ruin your trip unless you let it.

From my experience with past trips to WDW, you can bet on it it'll rain for about an hour or so every afternoon. Luckily, WDW has tons of indoor places. Usually that's the time we get something to eat and rest until the rain lets up. Have fun!

Ok I just got back from Disney last week... The forecast was rain everyday and it did rain every day around 3-5. 10-20 minute shower except the day we went to the studios. It rained for a good hour and half. We hit the animation buildings (something I have never done) and took a drawing class and saw a bunch of characters! Don't let the forecast fool you! Ps I'm still in central Florida and it still raining a little each day

Agree with pp we just got back and the small amount of rain won't ruin your day. Before we left we were checking a few sites and one always said rain every day. Stop looking and when you get there you will know what the weather is. We just turned on the local news in the morning before heading out to see what the percentage was for the day and always had ponchos with us. We basically used them once. We were usually back in the room for the 20 min. storms so it never bothered us. We spent the afternoons at the pool and used the storm time to get showered and ready for dinner.
