Sorry if this has already been posted, but I hadn't seen it here - the Ford "Ironman Florida" 70.3. will be at Fort Wilderness May 16-18. :goodvibes

Swim 1.2 miles (in Bay Lake :scared1: visions of out of control watermice renters  ), bike 56 miles, run 13.1 miles.

Anyone staying at the Fort May 16-18 should check it out! Hard bodies all around you - eye candy for the ladies for a change, woohoo! :rotfl: (Though some of those guys look a little too scrawny for me - I always tell DH lovehandles are back in style this year!)

We were there last year when they held this event. It is something to see! All those hundreds of swimmers in the lake, wow.

We went to FtW one afternoon last year, unaware the event was scheduled for that weekend. There were bikes parked as far as the eye could see next to the concierge desk at the HDDR to the Settlement Depot.

There must have been around $2million or more worth of racing bikes there. Unbelievable!

The longest bike ride I've ever done was a little under 20 miles on a flat, R to T path that was paved.. I can't even begin to imagine riding 56 miles!! I'd never walk again - or sit!!! Yowch!!!

In that case...I AM STYLIN' AND PROFILIN'

I hear ya, the last bike I rode was in an office and it didn't move, it was a physical therapy bike after my last operation. This trip to the fort, we were waiting to get to our site, and DS and DW were riding their bikes in circles around the TT in the parking lot, and Matt wanted "daddy" to ride mommys bike. I told him I didn't want to break it, but in reality, I didn't want to fall off and break me!!!

I'm up to 10 miles a day on my bike now. Between the South Beach Diet and that I'm conquering some flab. Why is it that those love handles are the very last fat to go. I've heard that when you lose weight it starts on your toes and fingers and works it's way in. :sad2: Don't really know if that's true.
