Ford Escape or Rav4

By the way, there is no such thing as an "American Brand" anymore. All the car companies (domestic and foreign) are now considered "Global". I would pick the Ford Escape. My husband started leasing one a few months ago and not only is is attractive, it is a very smooth ride. It got him through our worst winter here in Michigan in many years. As far as companies go, and I am a Mechanical Engineer, Ford has better quality right now than Toyota (that has not always been the case).

I had a 2001 Escape and currently have a 2010 Escape. However I will not be buying another.

I hate the frame design of the new Escape. You might as well buy an Edge.

My mom has the Edge and I don't like driving it, and the new Escape is built along that closer to the ground, lower roof, more bullet shape. She loves it but I prefer the classic Escape.

Totally agree except mine were 2003 and 2011. I will be sad when it's time for this car to go, I'll have no idea what to buy.

I work for a international company that employees that employes 100k+ people in the US so I have absolutely no issue with purchasing from a "global company". I do wish Jeeps (4-door) had better gas mileage and rode better as that is actually my preference in style.

DH wants me to take another look at the Honda CRV but I'm very hesitant as these seem lower to the ground (one of the reasons I like SUVs is to sit higher) I'm a whole 5' nothing and DH is over 6' so are opinions on this differ a bit LOL.

I have a Honda CRV and I love it!!!!

I just traded in my 2004 Escape for a 2015 Mazda CX5. I also test drove the CRV, which was originally my first choice, but after driving it, I didn't like it. The CX5 drives similar to the Escape, with a little more sportiness. I am loving it, and really loving the better gas mileage! It's just another car for the OP to consider for that class.

I have a 2008 Rav that I love. It's been a great vehicle and has been on several Disney trips. It has worked really well for our family.
