Forcing yourself on rides?

Last trip I forced myself to ride Tower Of Terror. I literally cried while waiting in line to board the elevator. For some odd reason I really really really hate the sensation of freefalling. I rode it once and will probably never ride it again :sad2: at least I can say I did ride it. :)

I forced myself to go on TOT twice and I told my Dh that's it. I am not riding it this trip. I do not like the ride at all. He'll have to go it alone again.

I am going to force myself onto Space Mtn & Splash Mtn this year. I am really scared of coasters ... but if I don't try this year I will probably tell myself I am too old next time.
Btw, I did go on ToT last time and it was great. Somehow being in the dark made it awesome.

I refuse to go on the green side of Mission Space, but I can't stand that pressure feeling you get in your chest on the orange side. But I still ride it. I just take slow deep breaths until the feeling stops. I am also scared of heights, the only one that bothers me really is Soarin', which I just try hard not to think about the fact that I am some 40 feet up off the ground with my feet hanging down with only a seatbelt (with a locking mechanism) holding me in. For kicks after I buckled myself in while people were still loading, I tried to unbuckle it....and it was locked in already. It's such an awesome ride, I just deal with it. I am fine in rides where I am strapped in, such as roller coasters, but on rides like ferris wheels and the old Skyway where you really don't have anything you are strapped in with, I get serious panic attacks. Friends asked if I wanted to try the Characters in Flight balloon at DTD, and I told them I'd wave from the ground while they rode in it. That would just be too much for me!

I forced myself to go on ToT to prove I could do it and verify that I wouldn't like it.

I did not like it and have no desire to ever ride it again. My eyes were closed the whole time and I pretty much screamed through all of it--going up and down; I got off with tears in my eyes.

I will admit that the theming is really neat and I had no idea there's that much to the ride once you sit down. I just wish I could get off before they put you into the shaft. XP
