Forcing Touring Plans to use FPs

I'm having a hard time getting a touring plan to work for me. I see there's a button for "Force "Optimize" to use all of your FastPass+ reservations" but I can't get touring plans to do the same thing for "evaluate." Problem is, I'm getting a good plan going, then I move 1 or two things, hit "evaluate," and BAM, all my fastpasses disappear. The rides are in the same order, mind you, but they are no longer using the fastpasses correctly, so now all the times are off (have gotten longer.)

Here's the problem in more detail. I wanted Big Thunder twice, but the Optimize was putting both rides back to back, which I didn't want. I added a FP for Big Thunder at a later time, slightly arranged 1 or two rides, and hit "evaluate." TP chose to apply the fastpass to the first big Thunder ride and not the second, which has now created a 149 minute gap between that and the next ride...which I can't seem to get rid of. Help?

Same thing was happening for me, TP was hell bent on not allowing me to use a FP for Space at 2:55.. I ended up just putting them in the order I wanted, which kind of defeated the purpose of TP optimize but helps me keep track of what I want to do anyway.

For 'evaluate' you're responsible for arranging the steps so that the FPs are used. The 'evaluate' button doesn't do any re-arranging. It'll add minimal breaks if it can figure out what you're trying to do.

The default behavior with one FP and two consecutive visits to the same ride is for the software to estimate which of the visits has the longer wait, and apply the FP to that one.

If you want to post a link to your plan, I can take a look at it.

Yes, it likes to use your FP on your first ride of a back to back same attraction. Which is the wrong choice in the morning. I have also had trouble with it being unwilling to apply a second FP to a second ride if they’re one right after another We plan to ride PW twice - once with 3rd FP, then I’m assuming I can get a 4th FP for it right away (don’t judge, my kids love that ride). TP has been very judgey about it and until this morning wouldn’t use the 2nd FP. I don’t know what changed this morning but now it’s onboard.

But make sure you have the FP times right in the FP section and they line up to that time in the order you have them when using Evaluate. That often screws me up (I’ll change the order but forget to change the FP time or vice versa).

Either I’ve managed to find some corner cases or you might want to run some tests on that. During late morning it frequently applies the FP to the first ride of things like EE. My plans have changed such that I don’t have that scenario anymore but I played around with it trying to get it to apply to the 2nd EE ride. My guess would be that 11:00 is going to be a shorter wait than 11:20 on EE.

Thanks for your response! I love touring plans and have been very impressed with it. I've been playing around with making plans for months and I still feel like I'm only beginning to understand how to best make use of all the tools. I remember that "optimize" moves steps and "evaluate" doesn't. Good to know how it's supposed to work with a ride put in twice. Interestingly, I hit "Evaluate" a few more times while changing nothing else, and around the third try, it moved my FP from the first Big Thunder to the second. Then, I took the first Big Thunder and turned it into a break named "Big Thunder" (just in case!) I'll keep playing with it.

It would make the back-end code and user interface more complicated. We don't get that many requests for it. It's hard to justify doing the work for it. :)
We just did two plans and set our park hours accordingly. Is there some advantage to having it on one plan? I didn’t see how there would be.

Less clutter in your list of plans? I suppose it could also help you estimate travel time between parks based on mode of transport if such a feature was added.

We also just make two plans.

I delete plans when I complete them, but yes, it can give you a long list.
