My DH and I are going to IOA with two other couples in September. The main purpose of this trip is the WWOHP. One of the couples is currently trying to conceive and is wondering if she could ride FJ while pregnant. For those of you who have been on the ride, would this be dangerous to ride if you’re 1-2 months pregnant?

It states on the warning board that it isn't recommended for pregnant women, so that would have to be their own decision. I don't think anyone here would want to make suggestions that they ride and then have something happen.

Well, if it states on the warning board that it isn't recommended for pregnant women, then I think that's her answer. I'll pass on the message. Thanks!

Right...why take a chance of having something happen?

I thought you were asking for our opinions. Glad to see that she'll follow the recommendations of the park!

In case she is thinking of ignoring the warning board (cause some time pregnant women do) the restraint can press against the stomach at times and you can be kind of squished in, which will be very uncomfortable for her. There are also some jerky moments and some moments that might raise the blood pressure a bit. All things to avoid if you know your pregnant.

Thanks for the info everyone. I let my friend know, and I don't think she'd ignore the warnings ... we just didn't know if there was one or not. Now I think her and her DH are trying to decide if it would be better to just wait until after our Sept. trip.

tell her no for that trip but next time she should try it out. She can go through the castle part and see all the cool stuff. If it is really busy still then you will be able to see all the mini shows in the line. AWESOME!!!! :wizard:

Why take the risk? To me it just wouldn't be worth it. I would feel beyond guilty if something happened because I went on a amusement park ride.

I am a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) nurse. We recently had a young woman deliver a premature infant, 25 weeks gestation, after going to Universal in Southern Cal. Obviously she chose not to heed the warnings and voila...preemie baby. Thrill rides are not worth the risk to the fetus. Thanks for asking on the boards.

This is exactly why we are waiting to try to conceive...FJ! Def wouldn't risk going on it while pregnant, but also don't want to miss it on our upcoming Oct. trip, so we have to wait til after then!! :goodvibes
