Last time we went to WWoHP, my son was too scared to ride so we did the walk through the castle and he and I left through the chicken door.

My DH and DD rode it though and both came off pale as we are the fraidy family when it comes to rides :lmao:.

Anyway, this time I'm determined to go on it and my son is saying he will too, I doubt he will though and my DH has agreed to sit out if need be.

My question is, are you allowed to take a handbag on the ride? I remember reading something somewhere about lockers so now I'm worried that we may have a problem if we all want to ride it.

Also, am I going to absolutely freak out? or do you think I will enjoy it and be fine?

Hi Lisa

We all did this ride last year and had to put all our loose items in a locker. It's no problem though and I'm sure the lockers were free.

I also wished I had sat on my thongs as I spent the whole ride trying not to get them to fall off.

Definitely do the ride, it's well worth it ;) You also get a photo taken while on the ride, funny reactions :rotfl2:

Definitely do it!

DD and I are definitely "fraidy" and forced ourselves. We got on and were thinking what have we done. But the ride stopped and we were stuck laying on our backs - the lights came on, we were there for five or ten minutes, it was weird it really got us used to being on the ride and when it started up again, we loved it.

But the ride is really smooth, you dont go upside down and it is essentially a simulator so you are never far off the ground or even going that fast.

We came off and were so full of adrenaline and wanted to immediately ride it again!! Because we had been interupted we were allowed straight back on, this was not good for our stomachs! But once, definitely.

And yes, there are free lockers as you enter the queuing area.

The locker just managed to hold my camera bag (Lowepro FrontRunner 200). So if your handbag is bigger, just be aware of the space constraint.

This is hands-down the best ride I've ever been on. You are sitting in a contraption that will move you along at the top, rather like the door scene in Monsters Inc. And it does move you side to side, forward, back in any direction....except upside down.

I hope you love it as much as I did.

we love the ride too, i went on it totally unaware of what it was like!! the going flat on our back thing was a bit scary! my DS7 went on it and he loved it, even though I thought he would be a bit scared by some of the stuff, my dad (78) also loved it! You definitely wouldnt want any bag/shoes/camera bags on it with you though
The vomit in the lift and down the corridor leading into the ride should have given us some indication of what was to come, I would say dont eat anything before you do the ride!! LOL

If you go first thing in the morning, you'll have no such indications. :rotfl2:

Okay so got to stow the bag and don't eat hahaha.

I need to tell my son you go on your back etc. That would likely freak him a bit if he wasn't expecting it.

Oh gosh, I'm in two minds on this one.

Next time we're in the US its a must but for me and DD who are prone to motion sickness we'll be taking Qwuells first and then riding all those other rides we can't normally do in the next 3 to 4 hours!

Go! It really is worth it.

It's more of a motion sickness thing - take some Dramamine if you are prone. As for going on your back, it's just like sitting in a recliner and it tips back, I wouldn't lie to him, but dint tell him anything you dont have to, if you can do rides like the Simpsons, it's fiine, you will love it!
Maybe there is a YouTube you can look at.

It's a great ride, I did it 5 times in a row without any problems, except the 4th one the ride stopped and while angles towards a dementor (sic?) :) I was on the ride alone (the others gave up after 2 or 3 goes) with a family of 3, all their complaining was most entertaining at the time.
The end seats are the ones a fuller figure gets seated (it's a row of 4) but there isn't much ride difference between the seats.
Well attached shoes are a must have :) if you can wear something with lots of pockets, like cargo pants, and have no bag it can make it a lot faster, the queue for the lockers is the massive boring queue on busy days, with no need for lockers you can just scoot up the lefthand side of the queue and go straight in.

There is a single rider line, just past the lockers that misses out the walk through (on the left up the stairs). I'm not sure if it as easy to miss still, but it meant the single rider line was tiny :)

sounds like some motion sickness tablets would be a great idea before riding.

Yep wish I'd known that because the queasy motion sickness I felt while riding kind of ruined it for me. Funnily, just the other night DH noticed that DD7 has had a bit of a growth spurt. He said to her "just think, next time we go back to WWoHP, you will be tall enough to ride Forbidden Journey!" I responded that, sure, she will be able to go but it will be me sitting in the waiting room waiting for them next time! Maybe though taking tablets would have made it better.

There are no waves involved. I didn't need the motion sickness pills. :lmao:
