Me again!

I've been following the 8 million posts about the FJ lines for the past year and thought I had it all figured out.

Don't bring a bag...stuff pockets... duct tape camera to body... anything to avoid the dreaded locker line...

However, now I've read that the locker line and the "riding as a group" standby line are the same line. And that you cannot skip this line even with no bag for the locker.

Can someone clarify for me? I know there are several different choices with single rider and castle tour being separate....

Thanks!! E :goodvibes

I'm sure someone else knows more than me, but when I went Thanksgiving weekend the line had indeed changed from my prior visits. Everyone got in the same line--bags or not--and waited together until you passed the locker area. Those that had bags branched off and got a locker and rejoined the line at that point, those who didn't just continued on. Since we went during a busy weekend, I remember waiting some 15 minutes or so just to get to the lockers. (On prior visits, there were two lines just outside the castle for lockers or no-lockers.)

I do not know how the TMs are handling entry to the locker area from the ride exit in Filch's or if that's even still an option.

If this is true, it sucks. Why should those people who have nothing to check in be held up behind people with bags to lock away. That would just frustrate the heck out of me.

Anyone else experience this change? Anyone know if you can still just skip the lockers and join the line behind this point (even via Filch's Emporium or the main gate to the castle)

The new queue is supposed to move you quickly to the sorting area. Everyone except those entering for the castle tour (and sometimes single riders) go through the normal new queue. Hopefully it is moving more quickly now that it has been open for a few weeks.

I went to US/IOA the second week of Dec and the locker line is seperate from the queve line unless there is a line outside of the castle.

This is the entrance to the castle which to the right is the locker area and the left you enter the actual queve line so they are seperate! that I know of you do not have to wait for one another.

That's a fairly dead time, made clear by your picture. I haven't seen that archway that empty very often. ;)

Yup. If there is any sort of line, it sounds like they are using the new queue.

Thanks for everyone's input! It does seem that if it's a quiet time (as it hopefully will be when I'm there....) the consolidated line is not a problem. Just when things get busy (and people back up at the locker entrance) then everyone waits....

Thanks again! I'll let you now how it was!
