How did that happen? You don't get your deposit back if you book concierge?
Right before the shutdown they changed the cancellation policies pretty drastically to make people feel comfortable about their options.

So I voted but now I am not sure how to read it? Do I say I want this level or less restrictions? Or I want this level or more restrictions?

For me I can deal with any restriction that they want to bring out. The only thing thing I will be watching is their vaccine policy. I expect no vaccine requirement imposed by Disney.

I won't go on a cruise ship until either they require everyone on board to be vaccinated OR Covid just isn't a "thing" anymore. Whichever comes first.

My intention when creating the poll was choosing what you require to feel comfortable, not what you are willing to put up with.

For example, some people are vaccinated, and don't mind if Disney imposes a vaccine requirement, but would also feel comfortable going if there was no vaccine required. In that case, a Vaccenic Required is not your choice because you would feel comfortable going onboard with others who are not vaccinated.

Others won't feel comfortable going onboard unless everyone else is vaccinated. In that case, you would select Vaccine Required.

I tried to make the options as clear as possible with the title...You wont cruise UNLESS (vaccines are required, vaccines not required, etc)

I guess the confusion (and I should have created a "None of the above" option) If you have no strong preference, there is nothing preventing you from going onboard. If you can deal with any restriction they have, and are willing to go regardless of vaccine required or not, masks or no masks, if you will go no matter what then there is no option for you to select in this poll. It was intended to measure what would prevent you from going. If that is nothing, awesome! Once cruising is ready, you are all set :-)

Since it was right at the beginning of the Covid craziness, I don't think many were worried about their deposit at the time. Maybe they worked something out and had it applied to a different cruise.

I am in between somewhat and somewhat less restrictive. I think some distancing is still a good idea, but I am not quite sure how DCL would handle this if the ship is full. If everyone is vaccinated and if there is some distancing, I would be comfortable with no masks. I would like everyone, not just adults, to be vaccinated, as my biggest concern is the cruise having to end early due to a positive test.

Well - CDC just announced new guidelines for outdoors/masks and there is a difference if you are vaccinated or not. Maybe that will encourage folks who might be on the fence to get vaccinated so hopefully masks won't be required on deck or on Castaway Cay.

We have a Western on the Fantasy in September and another over Christmas. My husband, 16 year old daughter and I are fully vaccinated. My issue for requiring vaccinations is about having more freedom on the ship in the adult areas and not being as worried about an outbreak that could cause the cruise to be impacted. If all adults are not vaccinated, it's likely that there will be more stringent social distancing and mask requirements, even in adult only areas.

Much is personal choice but the WDW orgainization should not be held liable if one goes to any park or on any cruise. If you sign up to go you know the possibilitites as we have been in Covid climate for 14 months. I would not have gotten the vaccine had I not been scheduled to travel on two different ABD cruises in Europe. Lost sleep for a few nights worrying about it BUT one injection of J and J and now I am ready to go. Have not looked back but glad it is over. (I am NOT a fan of needles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

So its about what is the least amount of restrictions that you would accept to go.

I just say it because I know plenty of people who would say they would not go on a cruise unless no vaccine is required. If a vaccine is required they would not travel. Flip side people would say they would not travel unless a vaccine is required.

Sorry picking this apart too much hahaha.

I updated my vote based on the least amount of restrictions I would accept.

EDIT:
Just wanted to add it might be helpful to do a multi-selection poll where people choose which restrictions they would/would not want.

I agree that I will sail regardless of the new rules or restrictions (or lack thereof).

The CDC is talking about now social distancing is becoming more and more obsolete. Same thing for masks among groups of vaccinated people. Given that, I will be genuinely annoyed if they require everyone to be vaccinated and wear masks. But as I said, even if those are the rules expect to see me onboard lol.

We aren't putting specific conditions on it, but when we're comfortable. We won't book a cruise until they are back running and we see how the first ones go. Hopefully by then my daughter can be vaccinated too. We aren't flying until she's vaccinated (we are already and 2 weeks from the 2nd dose tomorrow!) and we won't drive that far. My concern with all the precautions is whether I'll be able to relax and enjoy my expensive vacation if precautions are still warranted. We're very pro-mask, vaccine, distance, etc. I'm a scientist and following the science.

So after another few days of data, seems the percentages are mostly holding. The majority of respondents want (or are willing to accept) vaccine requirements (73%). Seems people overall prefer vaccines and social distancing to masks, although I admit that there wasn't enough granularity in the poll to determine if people were OK with masks indoors vs outdoors.

My biggest takeaway from this is the people who won't cruise unless there is no masking or vaccines required are in the minority. This tells me that if cruise lines are getting similar data from their own surveys, then when cruising resumes in the US, either the cruise lines (or CDC themselves) may opt to require vaccines to start to get as close to a normal experience as possible while decreasing the likelihood of an outbreak on the ship. If instead, ships wait to sail until they can do so without vaccines, a large percentage of people won't go. This may help the CDC in efforts to reduce ship capacity, but I doubt it.

The mostly likely result is either 1) Vaccines without restrictions or 2) Vaccines with Restrictions. The likelihood that there will be 3) No vaccines and No Restrictions is from the poll data, less likely, and from what we know of the CDC, pretty much a non-starter.

The irony here is that the one combination that would at first seem to be more of a compromise with with politicians and enforceable by the CDC would be No vaccine required, but masks and social distancing to compensate. That option was by far the least popular choice of the survey. Only 2% of responses want that.

It will be very interesting to see how the cruise lines and CDC navigate this and if they are doing their own surveys on this. IF cruise lines are collecting data similar to this and IF the lines and CDC decide that trying to enforce vaccines is too much of a political mess, we may be waiting a very long time to cruise.

Just an small update regarding vaccinations and DCL. In Europe the vaccination programs are being connected to each countries equivalent of the USA Social Security number.

Today, the UK Government announced that vaccination status will be checked through the National Health Service Ap. This means that DCL will be able to check passengers vaccination status at check in.

Yeah, this makes sense over there. For the US, we will get stuck in a catch-22. The government can't (and won't) create any way to universally record or track vaccinations (and thus no easy way for DCL to determine if you do or don't have one) but the majority of those that responded here prefer to sail on a vaccinated cruise, and the CDC likely won't allow cruising to resume until enough controls are in place to prevent outbreaks (of which vaccines are a big part of the controls we have today).

We are going to end up with the least popular option...No vaccine required (because we can't track it) but extremely overburdensome masks and social distance controls in place to compensate. Only 2% of those responded here want that.

I will put up with any restrictions except vaccinating my kids. The risk:benefit ratio is not there for me to be willing to vaccinate a 4 and 7 year old. But I would put up with anything else - vaccines for 18+, testing, temp screening, masks, social distancing, whatever. But I would also feel comfortable sailing without any of that. All the adults in our travel party are fully vaccinated, so I would feel comfortable sailing with no restrictions in place at all.

I don't think any of these vaccines will be approved for the under 12 set for quite some time. The dates I've read have all been early 2022. But I get your point. That's why it's imperative that we vaccinate as many people as possible who can be vaccinated. Herd immunity (75ish %) protects those who can't be vaccinated.

Absolutely! I’m a nurse practitioner, so I definitely appreciate the need for mass vaccination. That’s why all my adult family have gotten theirs already. And I’m not saying I’d never vaccinate my kids for Covid (they are fully vaccinated for everything else), I’m just not there on this vaccine.

Yeah, I agree with that 100%. The Covid risk for young kids without any underlying high risk conditions just doesn't justify giving them a vaccine approved only under an emergency use authorization in my view. Definitely not worth it for a disney cruise.

I went with the 18+ for the vaccine in the poll. Again, totally not questioning the risk/benefit ratio for adults (in fact, got my second shot yesterday!)
