Is it me or does an auction go nuts when Disney puts its name in to it? Look at this... 2942645877 on ebay. I know folks who want to just trade these sets away and can't... But Disney sells it and it is over 200 bucks...

Very interesting point, Nat. They don't say if it is limited or artist proof or really much of anything about the set. Doesn't really do anything for me, but I guess it does for some.

Nat, I am one those with this set.

I couldn't trade it or give it away - go figure!!

LOL I have the CM set like this and can't get rid of it!!!! Go figure!!!

Must be something about having that official disney logo on the auction.

I was watching one the other day - it was a dutch auction - they sold several of the 'official conscience' pins (Jiminy Cricket) for $50.00 each. I did a search and someone else had the exact same pin up with a starting bid of $9.99 and a BIN of $12.99 with no bids at all.

Go figure!

I wonder if this is a case of the bidders not realizing that someone other than DA might be selling these items.

There are DA exclusive LE100 pins that only DA sells (until they're sold, and then they show up on the secondary market on ebay). Maybe folks are not understanding that some of these items are plentiful and that Disney sold them for quite some time elsewhere, and that you can buy them on the secondary market for less than what DA is starting them at........

I think the Disney name has a lot to do with it. People expect that it will be a garunteed product. I also know people who shop on DisneyAuctions.com, but won't go near Ebay.
It's not just with Disney though. The other day I was looking at what a certain pin (I don't remember which one now) was going for on ebay. There were several auctions of this pin going for $35+ with atleast 5 bids and atleast 3 days left. There were several other auctions for this pin that ended sooner, were less than $10, and had no bids. Like with everything, people need to learn to shop around.

Anyone else notice that the $200 bid has been retracted? It's now down to "just" $112.50 right now.

I'd love a set from anyone willing to "get rid of one" or "give it away"...lol :jester:
