i am moderately thinking about joining WW on-line. i keep telling myself I know what to do and shouldn't pay for a diet - but nothing else has worked - at least long term. I've gained and lost the same 8 lbs for about 2-3 years now.

anyone use the on-line system that can share your take on it? i don't have time for nightly meetings - too busy being a mom/taxi service!

anyone have any promotional codes for discounts??

thanks!

Ohmom-
Just think the $ you would spend for the WW membership could be used at the park on that dream vacation! Find out how much it would cost to join WW, put that amount of $ in account and then turn to your friends on the WISH board for support! You would still have the "feel" of being obligated to be diet conscience, since you paid good bucks for it!

And, as I see it you will be a 2-way winner - losing weight and still have those extra bucks for the park!

What do you think?

OhMom, I debated about that online thing, too. There was not a meeting in the area around me that would work with our schedules. I decided that this is a great place to be. The one thing that I think that I will do is buy a new set of scales because mine are pretty accurate.

Grammy, I like the idea of setting aside the money and putting it into the Disney pot. I think that I'll do that, too! Thanks.

I go to WW meetings and really gain (not weight) a lot from listening to the leader and the other people there. If there is any way you can work a meeting into your schedule, I think you would like it. Remember, you are worth it and you should do something for yourself. Maybe you could just go every other week. I am a mom to 2 kids and have a job so I am speaking from the same mom/taxi place.

There was a promotion for a free 2 weeks online but it just expired on February 8. Sorry.

I joined on-line over a year ago. I loved all the stuff they sent me in the mail....organizer for ww materials, lots of journals, electronic point finder, etc... However, I did not do that well when it came to losing the weight. I ended up rejoining locally in the fall. I have to attend the meetings, not only for the support but just to be accountable to someone else other than the scale. I love getting my ribbons, stickers, key chain for every milestone I hit. They are silly things but I get so excited when everyone claps because they know just like me how hard it is to stick with it. It's different for everyone but that is what works for me.

I had done WW about 3 years ago and kept my books and calculators, so I started this year using those old tools. I lost over ten pounds in the first month, but then started to lose my motivation (before finding WISH). I found a great deal on meetings and decided to start going. I'm really glad that I did because I feel that it holds me a bit more accountable for my actions. I also know that it is money I could use at Disney and that motivates me to lose even more weight so I know I ma getting my moneys worth!!!!

I haven't tried the online tools, but I do have a journal and point calculator on my Palm Pilot which is really handy.

WW starter kits are also available on Ebay.

Best of Luck!

Amy

I don't follow the WW program so I have no advice for you ohMom. I just wanted to welcome AlreadyexcitedGrammy and allshookup to WISH. Grab some clipart and join in. I'm so glad you are here with us. We have a great support group here :teeth:

I debated and debated about joining online (I did it last year and was "fairly" successful) and finally I just bit the bullet Monday and did it.
There are a lot of site out there with plenty of WW materials, calculators, etc. but for me (JMHO) if I pay the $59.95 for 3 months...I better stick to it, or the money was a total waste.
So...I became a member of the online program, and so far it's working well.

yes, Grammy, I like your idea! have anything to do with the fact that the more $$ I take to spend, the less you have to spend on our darling girls!

someone asked earlier - now you know the Mom-daughter connection. Glad to see your on board now Mom :)

i'm still debating. I like the points plan, still gives me the freedom to make choices, but also provides limitations.

i'll let everyone know - for now i'm just trying to get in the groove. I did weigh myself Wed so now I know where I"m at and how far to reach my long-term goal. For now I"m focusing on the 10 lb goal!

We have a mother daughter team here on WISH?? How great that is!

Yes- Ohmom is my DD and she is a wonderful DD at that! Okay, so she can see thru my response, but hey it was worth try! She and her two DD's are coming over this weekend for a visit , so I hope to have clip art soon, it has been a busy week for me (translated, I haven't gotten that to work yet) but I think I can get some help while she is here - if nothing else it may take some Disney Dollars "dangling" in front of her as incentive!

Thanks for the welcome - off to the treadmill!
