Wondering how Disney Visa Card holders are notified of discounts? I have read on DIS that some discounts are made avail to Visa folks a few days before general public although this does not seem to be a consistent practice.

Do Visa cardholders have this info avail to them on the Disney Visa web site? I understand that the info is on DIS (thankfully) but was wondering if there is another communication method used? :thanks:

Emails are sent notifying cardholders of the promotion, as well as the dates that they are entitled to take advantage of it.

Hmmm I don't recall getting any emails but used to get things in the mail. Nothing lately, but my vacation is booked and I got FD so I'm all set.

However they can tempt me if they want for an early spring vacation to follow my Fall vacation. :)

Emails are hit and miss. The website (www.disneyrewards.com) will have the current offers listed, but normally not until mid-morning on the day it goes live. For advance bookings on resort deals, people just assume it will be 3 days prior to the rumored public release date. Most of the time, it is, but sometimes it isn't. You will have confirmation on this site shortly after 7am on rumored Visa release dates. People always call and report back with whether it is live or not. There is NEVER an email sent prior to a resort deal going live. It is only sent after it is live, even days after, and again, not everyone even gets notified.

I was just on the rewards website to check on perks and a question popped into my head. It's says that meet and greet is 1pm - ?, I forget, but doesn't matter, what I want to know is this strictly for Disney Visa or is that open for everyone?
I'm assuming everyone and the only advantage is you get the 5x7.
Or do I have that wrong and it is Disney Visa Card holders only and therefore the line won't be too long?????

It is a private meet and greet for Disney Visa credit and debit holders only.

OOOOOO:banana: gonna definitely put that on my Epcot days lists.
I'm sure it's hit or miss but what has been your experience with how long of a line/wait?

I was there last October when the hours were still 1:30pm-4:30pm, and the wait varied anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. With the extended hours (now 1pm-7pm), this would let you check back later if the line looks to be long. It is totally private, as in only your party is allowed into the room. You must show your credit/debit card to the CM working the line. They will look at your card(s) and issue you a voucher for each separate DV account. The voucher will be good for a free 5x7 of any photo taken during the session, and if you are doing a Photopass cd, all photos from the session will be included. There are typically two members of the fab 5 inside, and they will not tell you who it is. It will be a surprise when you are allowed in. We typically get Mickey & Pluto or Minnie & Goofy. Also, you can get a free photo daily for each account. Last year, we went to Epcot 2 days in a row, and we have a DV credit card and a DV debit card, so we got two free 5x7s each day. :goodvibes You will pick out your free photo in the photo center near Spaceship Earth. They will add borders or signatures to your free photo at no extra charge before printing.

Thanks so much!!! :worship:
We are traveling with another couple who doesn't have a card. But we are getting the photopass CD so that will work!!
And I believe we are at Epcot 2 days so we can go twice if they want a free photo. LOL DH and I have a Visa card but it is the same account #, so one photo will be for us and the photo pass will hold and print later or we go back to see if different characters are there and/or get the second photo.
Either way fun.

Nice photo! Your family photographs well.

Thanks smitch425 for the clarification! :disrocks: The Disney Card is new for us and it seems that knowing when it is going to be avail BEFORE the actual go live date is "need to know" information.

I didn't have the Disney Visa last trip and waited an hour in line at the Character Spot at EPCOT. Will be skipping that this trip. My sister and I have DV, plan to go twice and are already thinking about who will be in the 2 pictures we get each day :)

Also plan on trying the EPCOT Disney Visa photo spot w/family. Thinking about getting the photo pass also since it seems I am never in any photos since I am the one taking them. Striving to "make Disney memories" with granddaughters and I figure I probably should be in a few photos - although I actually do prefer NOT to be in photo

Great family photo smitch425! Would love to head to Disney around Halloween time and bring granddaughters.

We have a DV too - where is this spot for the 'private' meet and greet in relation to the regular character spot at Epcot? We have never had a problem with the regular line as we tend to go during quiet times of the year, but I am wondering where we go for the private meeting :)

The visa greet is in Innoventions to the right of Spaceship Earth from the entrance. It is in the front right corner of the building back toward the Art of Disney store.

:lmao: I'm gonna have to print that out and map it as I walk. I'm trying to follow this and laughing as unless you know exactly where this is the directions, at least for me are hard to keep in my head.

Thanks :thumbsup2

Is there a sign of sort telling you where it is? At least a sign on the door?

To add to what dsneprincess said, just look for the fire safety house inside Innoventions West. You will see a long wall with lots of video game stations. The meet and greet will be at the end of that (if facing the game wall, it is on the right end). It is a curtained off area in the corner of the room.

Ok first I find innoventions West and then a wall with video game stations. Then look lost and ask a CM.
I'm sure I'll find it. :goodvibes
Is there any sign that says Disney Visa or something like that?
