Wow, it is amazing how 2 families can do a week trip each to WDW and have such diff budgets. There is something for everyone!

I am envious of those of you who do a week for around $2K. My DH won't do a value resort, although I'd love to save the difference!

On the other hand, I can't believe that some folks spend $10K on a WDW trip. I could think of a lot of places to go with $10K.

So here is our trip...it is about the same cost each year. Goes up a bit for inflation and another child turning 3 thus requiring a park ticket. :scared1:

BC Garden view for 7 nights 10/27-11/3
2 adults, DD12, DS 3, DS 19mths
Free dining plan
7 day non hoppers
MNSSHP tix (purchased with cc points)

ME to and fro

About $4400...

If a 40% discount comes out I will switch us to a 1 bedroom villa somewhere...probably SSR. The price will decrease a few hundred to closer to $4k.

6 nights @ the Dolphin xs 2 rooms with AAA discount= $3400
1 xs annual pass purchase= $552.47
1 xs 5 day park hopper = $306
(2 adults already have APs)

After looking up airfare and the cost of a rental car we decided to drive down. Therefore:
Gas, round trip, from Chicago to WDW (according to online travel calculator) = $275

Meal allowance of $65 a day xs 6 days xs 4 adults = $1560

Really scary total for a dream Christmas/New Year's vacation = $6093.47:scared1:

I am used to going during value season, 2 adults, value or mod resort with dining plan. So adding it all up and laying it all out there for this trip just gave me a serious case of sticker shock. lol.
