Almost 2 weeks ago I sent DVC a check for payment in full on our DVC account. It still hasn't cleared.

Is this unusual? I tried to call Accounting today but couldn't get through and when I finally did - it was after 5PM.

Should I be concerned at this point?

Thanks in advance!
Rae

I wouldn't be overly concerned. They are probably pretty busy with dues payments payable this time of year. I would follow up with a call just to check but I wouldn't lose any sleep over the matter. :)

I paid off my points in Nov 2002. It took DVC over a 3 weeks to cash check. Call them to make sure they received it. Next time send any items registered mail.

I wouldn't be too concerned...it's a busy time with dues notices, tax info they need to get out etc. I do agree with the certified mail though, because then you get a receipt back showing that it was signed for.

I have paid off two contracts, and it always took them nearly a month to deposit the check, just like if often does when you are making payments;) After you pay everything off, it will take quite a bit of time before you get notification from them, too. They do send a congratulatory note, though, which is the best part of all. I use the regular mail for everything, and they have yet to lose anything that goes to Disney. Maybe it's the pixie dust!:p

Thanks everyone for all the information. It was soooo great to pay it off! With volumunous mail coming in, this is probably the case with mine. Yup, registered mail would have been better. Dare I say it? ..."Next time"!

Happy trails!

Congratulations on paying it off! It must feel great! We have made "extra" payments on our account by debit card. It has always taken quite a while until it shows up. You can always call and find out the status on it. MS accounting has always been quite helpful.

Yeah rae519.

Its a good feeling to be part of the DVC club and even a better one to have it paid off. We're working on the 4 kids college now. Will probably take a bunch more time to pay off than DVC, but as long as they don't move back in it will be money well spent.

That is amazing that their internal controls allow for the checks to go uncashed for so long. I am suprised that they don't use a lockbox. Poor cash management.

Oh yeah, congrats!!!
