For those who've eaten at The Brown Derby...

Depends. I wouldn't use the dining plan to eat there since I don't think its worth 2 TS but I would pay OOP to eat there.

No, we would not and have not. We tried it once for lunch almost five years ago and the service was terrible (and there were only five tables occupied at 1:00 in the afternoon), the food was mediocre at best. Not worth the price or two table service credits on the dining plan when we have many places we really love.

We ate there for lunch last trip, and it not on the agenda for our upcoming trip. We enjoyed our meal, but we had lunch, and I guess it was just too big of a meal for midday for us.... It is a good restaurant, but not so good that it's on the "must-see" list for us.

I think it's a decent place and we've eaten there maybe half a dozen times but it's not at the top of my list. I pefer Sci Fi for lunch and 50's PTC for dinner over HBD for either meal.

On the basis of our first visit, yes. So we did, but after the second visit, no. :sad1:

First time, the meals were great, server was lovely and very attentive, and we enjoyed every minute.

Second time, hardly saw the server, steak had to be sent back as it was undercooked, rest of the meal was just ... OK.

Not in a hurry to go back again.

Well we ate there in june for the first time and will not go back. The food was just barely ok. Ther service not bad. Way over priced and not worth being called a signiture resturant. We ate there for dinner so I can not comment on lunch. The dessert was good though. but out of ten I give it a 4.

Dinner each time:
June & December 07
June & December 08

We've had fantastic service & food each time! Would not use DDP credits for it, always pay OOP but it is the one "must do" for each trip :goodvibes

We just went a couple of weeks ago. The service was good. It was 5pm for dinner, not on the dining plan. The food was good also, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. I mean, nothing was bad, but it was all just ok. I wouldn't avoid it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back there again.

We eat there every trip; it's good food, a nice atmosphere, and good service. What's not to like? :)

Thanks everyone!:thanks:
After reading these comments, I think we'll do 50's Prime Time again. We really enjoyed this restaurant during our last visit. I am trying to decide if I should try something new or go back to Prime Time. I don't want to use up 2 TS credits for ordinary food and service. These reviews have helped me make my decision. I'm booking Prime Time again!

Yes - we always try to eat there every trip. We've done both the FDP, dinner and lunch and have never been disappointed. I wouldn't use two ts credits, we usually pay out of pocket. I would go just for the grapefruit cake!

I had a lunch there on my trip in May. It was the best meal of the entire trip! The seared Ahi tuna was absolutely delicious.

We're also dined there many times in the past....both DH and I as well as with our 2 children. We all liked it a lot. Unfortunately, it doesn't always make our list on every trip because the kids enjoy the Sci Fi....not so much for the food, as for the atmosphere. We tried the buffet at Hollywood and Vine on our trip last month and won't be doing that again for a very long time. It was OK, but nothing special. Next trip, I'll be pushing to head back to the Brown Derby! ::MinnieMo

We have had 2 great meals there. While we enjoyed them we probably won't go again until/unless we do the deluxe dining. I won't spend 2TS for a meal there. Too many places to try!

This was almost our exact experience in 2004. We were happy that it was slow, thinking we would get great service--bottle of wine, etc at lunch--and it was horrible--food, service, etc. So bad that I filled out a comment card. Never heard from them, though. We have never been back.
