We know that the drive home can be rather long, since the anticipation etc.. is gone, everyone's tired. So we're thinking of making a one night stop somewhere, and spending a day doing something fun. We're planning on going route 81/77 to avoid the 95 as much as possible, especially around Baltimore, NYC etc... but not opposed to traveling the 95 in the lower states. So.... any suggestions for a fun day stop? No beaches (DH's request), no theme park (we'll be theme parked out!), but something neat, interesting, a neat experience, a sight seeing thing etc... We have two kids age 8 & 5, leaving Florida on July 3rd, the kids love animals, water, boats, horses (including watching racing and riding themselves) pirates, trains... all sorts of things, lol.
