Can you tell I have too much time on my hands? Two posts in a day...;)

I called the Timeshare Store today to be put on the waitlist. I'd like to buy 50-75 points at the Boardwalk.

For those who've been waitlisted....How long before the phone call? I know that every case will be different, but, have you waited days or months....?

i think they just put you on the daily email list - which includes all new contracts for sale, not just the 50-75 point-ers.

when an email comes with a contract that fits your specs, you have to make a quick calculation whether the contract (full pts or stripped) is worth the price - for small contracts there is rarely any negotiation - and if it's a good one, quickly call TTS to buy it.

mine took a week or 2. i called a couple of hours after the email came out, and wound up 2nd on the list. the first caller backed out and i got my OKW contract...

Thanks! This just gets more and more confusing. I keep calling my poor sister ( who owns DVC at two properties ) to ask questions. As soon as I get one answered, more pop up. I have NO IDEA how to figure out if the contract is a "good deal" stripped or with points...Back to the drawing board, I guess...:lmao:

read through this thread looking for smaller BWV contracts around your range...it can give you an idea of what similar contracts (with a given number of available pts) have been selling for...and what prices are so low that you risk losing the contract to ROFR.

I have to say that my one and only attempt with the TSS "waitlist" was not good from the buyer side. Now as a seller it seemed to work better (at least my contract sold quickly so someone must have heard about it LOL!)

IMHO look around and check other resellers too..

Oh, I'll be looking every day. I know I've seen them available in the past. I just wasn't ready to commit yet...Now I have to be patient.

If only I could commit to 100 points...:lmao:

I have told them what we want and no one ever called. I finally saw a listing on their website.

My time with them was very good. I used them twice to make purchases for more points at the Boardwalk. As soon as a listing opened up in the amount of points that I was looking for, I received a phone call on my cell phone.

The only thing, and it's not really their fault, is that you really have to be able to get back to them pretty quick because if not, you may miss the sale!

Maybe you could just get to the add-onitis from the get-go!!
:lmao:

When I purchased last year, I didn't ask them first to find me a contract, primarily because I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. I added the listings to my favourites and checked every morning before work. I initially wanted a 50 point contract, but a 60 pt contract came up and I decided to go for it. I called them and said I want that. They took it from there. I have found that by the time I get the email, the smaller more lucrative contracts (i.e.anything small at BCV, any loaded with points) are usually snapped up early. Good luck.

OK...I've committed to 100 points. Just made an offer with the Timeshare Store this morning...:lmao:
