How was it? Crowds, weather?

I'm thinking of going next on the March Break, so I can't wait to hear!!! :)

Just got back last night.

We didn't find it bad at all, but we also go during peak seasons as I am a teacher. The worst crowds we ever experienced was March a few years ago, but last week wasn't bad at all.

I am sure you are going to get responses on here that say crowds were bad, but honestly, they were not a disaster. We did Fastpass in each park (did MK, Epcot and Studios, but no AK), but never, ever do rope drop.

We like March Break because of Flower and Garden Festival, but the week itself is too rushed, as we drive, so we prefer our 2 week trips each summer.

Have fun planning, Tiger

I'm interested in this as well. We will be doing a 7 night cruise, plus 7 days at disney next march break.

We just got back and had a good time. We never did visit the parks. The weather was nice. There were a couple days of cooler temps but for the most part in the mid to high 70's. We had one half day of rain. We enjoy going for march break.

Returned last night. Weather was "average" this year. Week started cool (breezy) but warmed as it went on. No way of telling what the weather will be nexy year. We've had really cold to really hot with all levels in between. Preplan for both, then select your final wardrobe a few days before based on the long range forecasts. Last week was one of the hardest to pack for because forecast went from cold to hot, wet and dry. Had to pack for everything; and we were travelling with carry-ons only!

Crowd levels were pretty good. First day at MK was a bit busy, but we missed rope drop (kids are teens now; no getting them up early!). Let the line apps help you pick the best day for each park.

We did Universal, both parks, on a rainy Tuesday and had great lines - Forbidden Journey in about 20 minutes, no wait for Dragon Challenge, the only really long wait was Despicable Me (we skipped it).

We were at Magic Kingdom on the Thursday. Was ok in the morning but was crazy by afternoon - I thought. Weather was iffy. Had a couple of nice days at the beginning but was cool on the day we went.

We were there March 3rd-9th and it was great. The weather was kind of cool to begin with (like a good coat, gloves and a scarf at night for the first couple of days) but I'll take that in WDW instead of back home any day! :rotfl:
We never even saw one drop of rain. It was sunshine and blue skies all week long.
Crowds were very manageable, as long as you were ready to get up early and be there at rope drop. We always use Ridemax and Touring plans and they proved their worth once again. With great plans, you can accomplish anything. But that's just us... ;)

We are planning our summer trip and this one is always hot and humid but, hey, at least I get to go, right? :cool1:
Have a great time planning!

I'm still here. :cool1: Going to Magic Kingdom for the dessert party in a couple of hours. It was freezing Wednesday and Thursday. Brr. Crowds haven't been bad at all. We got in line for Toy Story Mania on Tuesday. The predicted time was 85 minutes and it was only 50 minutes. woohoo! We usually get fast passes, and in general, we have been able to get those for just about an hour after we pick them up.

We spent last week there and got back late last night. We usually go in the fall and I think we will stick to that plan in the future. We found it quite cool. Of course I shouldn't complain with the crappy weather out there tonight! LOL! It was warm from about 1 -5.
It was quite busy and required alot of careful planning. We found If you were at the park when it opened and used fast passes carefully, waits were manageable. Afternoons were incredibly crowded, but tended to die down in the evenings.
The one thing I found interesting at this time of year, was that although the parks were very busy, fast passes were available longer than in the fall and the resturants never seemed crowded and we had no trouble getting 7 in on standby. We wondered if maybe at March Break there was more visitors that maybe didn't understand the fast pass thing or know how to make a reservation and fall you have all the Disney fans for Food and Wine and MNSSHP. Don't know? I found it interesting that people would get in a 40 min wait line up, yet the fast passes being given out were for a return time in less then a half hour. Why would you wait in line for more time unless you had a fast pass for something else. Who knows?
We stayed at OKW and never found it crowded. It seemed no different then the fall.
There was a lot of high school groups and the first part of the week cheerleaders and dancers. We found them all to be very well behaved and respectable. I loved seeing all the marching bands before the parades. Or listening to the different choir presentations around the parks. That is something we don't see in the fall. The Garden festival at EPCOT was beautiful and worth seeing. However now I am bummed, because I want to see color and flowers and instead all I see is white!:crazy2:
Good luck with your planning! I'm sure you will have fun regardless of the time you choose. You just have to decide what you want in a holiday!

We were there during March break. Mornings and evenings were cool. During the day was perfect between 22 and 25 everyday. We went to IOA, US and Wet and wild ... I was expecting long line ups and to my surprise I didn't have to wait more than 20 min anywhere we went ... We had a blast!

That's an easy one - we do this all the time for our favorite rides. Grab your fastpass, then hop in the standby line. As soon as your first ride is over, you are in your fastpass window and can have your second ride without waiting.

We basically hit the parks for the AM, then left at noon or so to head back to the resort for the rest of the day. We found the crowds heavy, like usual. My tolerance of crowds is not that high!

We were there March 9-12 and thought it was a zoo! HS on our first day wasn't bad, but MK on day 2 was supposedly a 8/10 for crowds but it was almost unbearable for us. It rained the next day and we had a wonderful time because many people stayed away.
Just so you know, the state of Texas apparently has a week of vacation in March, and this year it coincided with our March Break. If we ever go again in March, I will be checking the Texas school calendar.

Sorry you felt it was too busy.

Everyone should be checking school calendars, as besides 3 Canadian provinces who have break that week, there are many states that do as well.

That is one of Disney's busiest weeks during Spring Break for that reason.

That being said, this year was not as busy as we have experienced in March before.

I just got back on Sunday, and I didn't find it bad. We were only in the parks one day (Tuesday, rain day) - started in the AK - totally empty, went home to dry off, have lunch and nap - quick stop at EPCOT for a couple of favourites, and then on to MK for the rest of the night. On the whole, quite quiet. The really popular rides were still busy, but fastpasses were available until quite late. :thumbsup2

We were there 10-17 arrived back 18. I was very happy with the weather got to wear shorts, flip flops and tanks or t-shirts. Yes the mornings were cool but man loved it 100% better then here.
