For those who think only DISers hate FP+, check their Facebook page

No one has used the final form yet, since it's not in it's final form. So not sure what you're trying to say there.

Maybe it's how you interpret things, but from what I'm seeing, people are saying that the "super-users" or whatever term you want to apply here, are the ones that are upset. Not necessarily only super-users on the DIS. But to each their own interpretation I guess.

ETA... Myself, I think it's more than just super users. I myself am not happy about the limit of 3 and the tiers. But overall, I like the concept.

I like the concept as well. It's a work in progress. As Mr. Disney once said, Walt Disney World will never be "finished".

There are no guarantees in life, but I would bet heavily in their favor. You just don't get approval for this kind of spend without some very solid and predictable information to support your plan.

Could it fail? Sure. Will it fail because people prefer FP- over/MD FP+, no chance.

It's not the information they gathered that I question, necessarily (though, I also agree that I don't think the majority of WDW guests want to be plugged in on vacation). It's their execution. With over a billion put into this and a lot of the system predicated on how well their app/MDE site/wireless work, it's not exactly confidence inspiring to see how crappy the IT infrastructure for the MM+ system still is.

Still agreeing. Still pointing out to take a screenshot of your FP then you don't have to navigate the app. Not dismissing anyone's concern I'm actually trying to offer a solution. Again if battery life is a problem then this doesn't matter. Maybe without having to navigate the app so much you'll have more battery life. :)

And I appreciate real suggestions like this on how to make things work better for us. However my smart phone is apparently not smart enough for FP+. It is not screenshot capable.

I too like the idea of a screenshot, though I would take the extra step and make the screenshot my lock screen picture so I wouldn't have to go through my gallery to find the picture either...

Course, this also means my phone can take screenshots, and I don't know that it can...Ive never tried! Off to figure that out ;)

Just so you know, we just got back and a screenshot was not enough. The couple times we had issues, the CMs wanted us to go into the app, into the FP+, and into the "Change Selections" screen as proof - the CMs are well aware that you could screenshot and then change stuff, and of the phantom FP+s. Dont expect a screenshot or printout to save you any trouble.

Disney didn't give approval for a multi-billion dollar spend without these answers ahead of time. This level of detail was planned long ago. They knew then how many FP+, and to whom, they were going to make available. And we have only seen a few of their cards. They are still playing this hand very close to the vest - probably because they want to control the message throughout.

Understand how much money we are talking about. Understand that spends like this require board approval, and that many careers are at stake. If this goes badly (for Disney), countless jobs will be lost - executive level jobs.

They are not "rolling the dice" here. They have a plan to make money, and that plan has a very high probability of success or they would never have sniffed this level of funding. We may not like their plan, and it may change the way that families are forced to tour WDW, but they definitely have a plan.

Understand that the suits that came up with FP+ have no experience in actually touring the parks.

On paper (the only place most of them have seen FP+), it looks great. Where it fails is in practice.

LOL - I can't argue with that. Solid point.

Oh, I get that - but FP+ is only a tiny piece of this project. It is just the one being talked about most right now.

This is exactly why I don't consider the amount they've spent on this proof it is well thought out and will be successful.

I don't think a glitchy app and website are signs of Disney knowing exactly what they're doing. Disney has always been crappy in that department, that hasn't changed. The difference now is everyone is forced to rely on it as opposed to it being a choice before. In the past you could avoid Disney's website entirely before a trip if you wanted to.

I have never been able to make FP+ on the computer without running into a blank screen or an error, not once. At least the error still let's the reservation go through. At this point, all I get is blank screen, so I can only use the phone app. I have been on the phone with Disney countless times due to disappearing info (sometimes disappearing people entirely) and other MDE problems. That does not scream well thought out to me.

Disney can and does make mistakes. They are not immune. That doesn't mean FP+ is a mistake, we don't know that yet. What we do know is it's not impossible and surely not impossible simply because they spent a lot on it.

I noticed that some of the negative comments have started to pop up over on the Reviews page side on FB. If that continues Disney may notice because they can't just bump it down by releasing new posts.

I was actually going to comment on this, too. If you REALLY want to make your voice heard on how much you hate FP+, go to FB and post a REVIEW. That stuff can't be taken down easily AT ALL. I own a small business and we had a disgruntled former employee leave a crappy review on our business page and in investigating how to take it down, I discovered that the only way to make it go completely away is to remove the address of the business (which removes the ability for people to check-in there) AND remove the ability for ANYone to leave ANY reviews. Now, eventually, if enough people leave positive reviews, it will get pushed down the page, but in general, reviews stick the most, LOL!

I am on the fence about FP+ myself. I am a first-timer, so I won't know any different, which makes it an easier pill to swallow for me. Plus, our trip isn't until December, so I'm hoping that the good will outweigh the bad by that time. :cool1:

The screenshot discussion in this thread was in the context of how someone could remember their times when they didn't have paper FPs to remind them, not as proof to overcome problems at scanners.

I had my fastpass selections changed overnight while we were sleeping! Also the app said the other three members of my party were " ineligible" fot fast pass selections!
We are staying on site next week and this trip isn't cheap!
I called and cm said their were glitches. I asked if I could take screenshot and she implied this would not help.
I fear we are going to arrive there Monday with all my fastpass selections changed or gone altogether! Normally don't go on Disney exp app that early but was waiting with grandaughter for school bus and she wanted to see her scheduled princess meet and greets..boy..were we in for a surprise!

I might feel extremely frustrated if Disney's issues with the phantom fp's caused cms to not believe me when I'm just trying to prove my legitimate fp. I'm hoping for the best in February. I'm already a little frustrated that I have to remember my real fp times around the phantoms.

I totally agree that they are not rolling the dice here. They have a plan and it will all be rolled out eventually. That's why it's interesting to talk about what they have already done and see if there are any clues as to what their big plan is :)

I disagree though that their plan has a high probability of success. Companies make huge mistakes all of the time. This is a risk like any other major business decision. Doesn't mean that they will go bankrupt or anything, but doesn't mean that they will make back all of their money and then some.

This is something I've wondered about too. With people seeing phantom FP+s and disappearing FP+s, wouldn't it seem possible that Disney's program on the CM's side could glitch too? :confused3

It's advertising the monorail too, which funnily enough is down during the week for the next couple of months.

I feel like somebody is trolling the WDW Facebook page.

I feel like somebody, or many people, from Disney is following threads here AND on the fb page. Some of the comments are just ridiculously positive -- it could only be a staffer or exec trying to turn the tide or search for positive feedback. There was a post on here the other day about a family that had gone to WDW every year and had only been able to do 1-2 rides per day before FP+ :confused3 Disinformation campaign I think.
