For those who think only DISers hate FP+, check their Facebook page

Again, that's only because you are choosing to do things that way. Not because FP+ is forcing you to do it.

If we make FP+ reservations for the afternoon or evening, we don't have to worry about our return times in the morning. We just work our way around the park, riding things standby as we go. No phone or glitchy app needed.

And when we make FP+ reservations in the late afternoon or evening on a busy day, the least of our worries is that the attraction we have chosen will have such a short standby line that we will have wasted a FP. If the line for Soarin or TSMM at 6 PM is 20 minutes or less, I will know that I can do whatever I want in the park for the rest of the day.

No, it's because we tour differently and have different concerns because of it.

We will never make late day FP+ reservations. We just typically don't stay late into the park day.

I remember the ads stating 3 out of every 4 people suffer from hemorrhoids.

Does that mean every 4th person enjoys them?

I believe you may be confusing FP+ with hemorrhoids...

you may be wearing your MagicBand wrong...

Yes, we tour differently, but my use of later in the day is between about 5 and 8 PM. On our last trip, the latest FP we had was for TSMM at 8 PM, and we only made it that late because it was our arrival day and we knew we wouldn't be to the park before 6. Our intention was to use the FP right at 8 and get out of the park before the 8 PM Fantasmic let out, and we were able to do that. And we were grateful for the 3 rides we were able to do with FP+ that evening that we wouldn't have been able to do without it.

That was worth a lot more to us than the inconvenience of having to jot down our times before we left home.

Or was it 4 out of 5 dentists recommend Crest? I'd hate to get those tubes mixed up.

There's a wrong way to wear a MagicBand?

You must tour differently now, and you must like it. I think that pretty much sums up the counterpoint.

I'm thrilled for you.

Apparently. :rolleyes2

Maybe I should eat my peas too?

It sounds like you are one of the lucky ones who had a perfect experience with the technology, never had any problems with it not working, and never had a ride temporarily closed when you showed up for your FP time. You're a lot more fortunate and rare than you realize, those are close to lottery odds. :)

:raises hand: Me ME! I know! I am touring differently in September... in Diagon Alley. :lmao:

That addition does look pretty impressive! Been studying it today. Might try to get down there for a long weekend in late summer myself. If I still have any cash after a first-visit DLR and Hawaii!!!!

:lmao:

Sorry, but you've already shown yourself to be incapable of telling one tube from another!

But the contents shouldn't matter, right? It only matters how you use them?

(See what I did there?) :rotfl2:

You are going to have a BALL. :wizard:

We were sufficiently miserable when we left WDW in early January that Husband said he didn't want to go back this year and we cancelled our WDW resort reservations. Then he heard DA was opening this summer, so we decided to give it a try. Never stayed at Universal before. We will see!

Yes, I believe we will. :thumbsup2

<Impatiently waits for top-notch pics from DLR in a trip report.>

Been a couple of years now for me, but feel free to PM me with questions or post on the Uni forum--lots of great helpful posters there.

See, this why you don't care about FP+. You are fine with paying full price for 2 hours at DHS, and only getting 3 rides. Most folks would call that a failure.

On a sad note, saw a friend of a friend post Magic Band pic to FB, with excitement. They are being kidnapped at the airport. When asked what they were, they said they were used for room keys, charging, and park entry. No mention of FP+. If only I could respond to the pic... Apparently their 10ish son has no interest in Spider-Man or Harry Potter either. I'd assume thousands a day show up at MCO clueless to how Disney is manipulating them. -Jason

I think it's obvious who the 5th dentist is. :cool2:

Mesa....your trip sounds awesome! We did that same DL/Hawaii tour in 2011. You are going to love it!!:thumbsup2

If you get the chance, I highly recommend sunrise atop Haleakala at 10,023 feet.

Well, you certainly took that out of context and misinterpreted it.

The day in question was the day we arrived. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived at the resort about 5:30 PM.

Because the adult daughter who was with me and I have APs, we went to DHS, went to see the Osborne Lights, and used our 3 FPs. With APs, the time at the park didn't really cost us anything; we had already gotten our money's worth on those passes from previous trips, and we still had 4 full days on this one. Anyone who has a MYW ticket of longer than 4 days isn't paying much for that one extra day either.

Without FP+ we still would have gone to DHS to see the lights, but probably wouldn't have been able to enjoy any rides. Without APs or a multi day ticket, we wouldn't have paid to go to the park for just 3 hours. Yes, we considered that a successful day. The fact that the temperature was 60 degrees higher in the evening than it was in the morning made it successful too.

A lot of other people have identified being able to get FP+ reservations on their arrival day as a significant advantage of FP+. But, the detractors dismiss that advantage, just like I dismiss not having paper tickets with my times as a significant advantage of legacy FP. I'd rather have 3 rides with times that I have to remember or write down myself than having no rides at all. Maybe it's just me.
