Do you worry about your belongings while you are gone? Do you leave stuff in your tent or does most everything go back into your car? Are the campgrounds monitered at all through the day? I know around here at the State campgrounds they have DNR workders drive around the campgrounds quite frequently.

We don't tent camp, but we do camp in a pop up, and lets face it. that thing is not locked and even if it was, getting into it would be as simple as unzipping or unvelcroing any part of it.

That being said, we have never worried about our stuff while camping (at FW or anyplace else). Of course any cameras, personal ID's, wallets, money and travelers checks are either with us or locked in the car. I do believe that there is a safe at the front office of FW that you can put stuff in if you wish. We have never felt the need to do this. (We do however lock up our valuables in our room safe if not camping.)

We are in a popup now also and as loriandmatt said getting into a popup is as easy as getting into a tent. We have not had anything stolen since about 22 years ago when we had a cooler full of beer stolen from outside our tent, probably by local teens from the campground. (not FW) We keep extra cash and valuables locked in the tow vehicle. However, camping equipment like chairs, stove, lanterns, as such we leave in place at camp. Its best not to tempt honest people but a thief will get what they want no matter what you do.

I do tent camp and my valuables are either locked in the truck or on my person.

The first time I tent camped at Ft. Wilderness I put those small luggage locks through the zipper pulls, because that would make the thief have to cut the cloth on my tent to get something, but it was such a hassle getting on my knees in the dark to unlock them each time, I havn't done it since.

If somebody really wants a chair, sleeping bag, clothing, or air mattress of mine, so be it.

I'm not going to let my vacation be ruined over it. The essentials can be replaced at Wal-Mart for less than $100.

I'm also willing to bet that WDW would loan me some of their rental camping gear if my stuff was stolen on their property for the duration of my trip.
