? for those who recently added on through Disney

Hi! We just added on 50 BCV points at the very end of January and since our use year is April, they were kind enough to let us bank our 04 points. My question is this: Should we have already gotten a dues statement for 04 and 05 points by now? We, of course received and paid our dues for our original OKW points back in Jan., but did not receive a bill for the add on dues.

I am hoping someone who recently did an add on through Disney can help me out with this. We are putting these points toward our August trip and I want to make sure there are no problems regarding dues not being paid. Maybe I should check with my guide. Thanks for any help you can give me with this.

Welcome fellow New Yorker.

We added on at SSR in November 04, Didn't close until January and first dues were due in Feburary, prorated with January dues added. You will get a letter from DVC with all the payment breakdown on it. Just don't worry. They are very good about keeping you notified about your payments.

Never had a problem with getting payment info from MS either. Just call the 800 # and select accounting from the menu of options.

You shouldn't have to pay 2004 dues. When you buy direct from DVC, you pay pro-rated dues from the purchase date and your purchase date was in 2005. Have you closed on the add-on? They don't process the dues payments until after closing.

Thanks for the response, Debbie. I believe we closed. We signed all the papers they sent and gave them the final payment. Our points immediately went into the system, also. As far as the 2004 points, since our use year is April, they gave us 2004 points, technically to be used by April 2005, but the MS said we could bank them since we just got them in 2005.

Anyone else just add on within the last three months? Just curious, when I will get the dues statement. DH says I should not worry because Disney will be on top of it! This is new to me because when we did the original OKW resale, the dues were already paid by the seller and we just reimbursed them.

Sorry, I can't help you with your question. I was wondering how long you had to wait to add on the BCV points? We're on the waitlist and I'm just curious. Thanks!

You will only have to pay a pro-rata of dues for 2005, from the day you found out you got the points. DVC will send you a dues sheet for those added on points soon, don't you worry. When we added on our BWV points through DVC, closing was scheduled about 3 weeks after we mailed in our payment. We received the dues statement about 4 - 6 weeks after that, though it wasn't due immediately. We bought the points at the beg of August and I distinctively remember the dues were due November 15th, since we weren't going to be home when they were due. I believe I got the dues bill at the beginning of October. So, based on my timing, you should see a dues bill by the end of the month.

Stimpy: We actually called our guide in the middle to end of November and got our points the very end of January so it really only took about 10 weeks. I guess we were really lucky. I really thought we might have to wait several months. Good Luck to you and hopefully you will get them soon!!

I did an add on at BWV last month and asked about when we find out what the new dues amount would be. The response was "You will receive a letter with a dues statement attached, which will have all the information you need, 30 days after you close on this contract. "

I could be wrong here.....With our add on last month for an April use year, I was sure the contract said that our first payment plus pro-rated dues etc will be taken out of our account in July. It is one of the last pages of the contract that gives the payment breakdown. You may want to look there.
