I know I am really early but I have just changed my May trip to next Oct. Could you please tell me how far in advance they sell tickets to MNSSHP? Also, I know that they sell a pre-set amount of tix. Does that mean that there will not be any more people at the party on Oct 31 than any other date that sells out? Comments from those of you that were there Oct 31. Would you suggest visiting the party some other night? Thanks for any advice!!

Terri

For the 2004 party tickets went on-sale in May. I don't know the answer to your other question I'm assuming your statement is correct, but Disney does not release the actual number of tickets they sell. I went to the October 3 party and it was fabulous.

We were just at MNSSHP on Halloween (10/31/04) and it was great!! I purchased our tickets July 15th -- as soon as our plans were definite but I could have bought them even sooner but since they are non-refundable/non-exchaneable I really wanted to be 100% sure. I was a little worried about crowds but it was fine! At the beginning of the party 7 - 7:30 Main Street and Tomorrowland were a little crowded but mostly lines were at the trick-or-treat stops and for Stitches Great Escape (which was open for preview that night--YEAH!). We walked onto Buzz, Indy Speedway and Space Mountain with maybe a 5 - 10 min wait tops. The lines over at Fronteirland and Adventureland were virtually non-existent and in Fantasyland we only waited 10 min for Pooh and less for other rides. It was a little more crowded around the later (10 pm) parade than I had expected but that was probably because we wanted to be in Liberty Square to hear the Headless Horseman tale (which was awesome). But since the parade ran in the opposite direction than the usual day parade we then had to wait for about 15 min until it got around to where we were. Oh, and I forgot to mention the fireworks -- phenomemal!! And (maybe because it was the last night and/or because it really was Halloween) they were handing out candy in fistfuls which my kids thought was great (and "good" candy, too per the 9 year old) -- they were just a little afraid of missing out on our usuall hometown trick or treating and I thought I read somewhere that candy was handed out one piece at a time but this was definitely not the case for us.

This was our first MNSSHP and I think it will be the first of many!

I went for the first time on the 24th and it was the best decision I could have made. We walked on to all of my DD4's favorite rides. On Splash Mountain they let us just stay on and keep riding becasue there was no line.

At first, I felt a little funny getting candy but when I remembered how much I paid for my ticket, I filled my bag...lol.

I am definately going to plan another October vacation with MNSSHP but I think I am going to try to get tix for the party right before Halloween so we can trick or treat for free in Downtown on the 31st and get in two nights of fun.

I was talking to another dad who chose not to gt MNSSHP tix and he really didn't know what he was missing. My only complaint was that there was not good lighting for pictures. All of our character shots came out so dark. Maybe I'll write to them.

Good Luck!

I did the MNSSHP on the 24th and had so much fun, I did it again on the 26th.
This really exceeded all my expectations of what it would be. The longest wait we had all night was for Peter Pan and that was maybe 5 minutes. Everything else was under 5 minutes.
The trick or treating was awesome. Great candy and we definately filled up the bags! I already received my freepictures in the mail and they turned out cute. Lots of characters everywhere. The parade was awesome and enjoyed the storytelling on the Liberty Belle. We got so much done that night without having to rush to do everything.

We were there for the first time ever on the 31st!! The halloween party was great and not too bad (meaning crowds). It was crowded around the trick or treat stations mostly. The fireworks were great and we saw the 10pm parade which was sooo neat. Also the rides were empty and they were giving out huge amounts of candy. Also they were doing free face painting which was just awesome. Trust me you will have a great time

We went on the 26th for our first time and we thought that being able to walk on the all of the rides (except Dumbo and Speedway) was worth the price of the tickets. The trick or treating was fun, as was the dinner at LTT. It was our first time at LTT and the food was fabulous! Seeing all of the villans in the parade was really neat too! Would we do it again ~ definitely! However, the crowds during the week of 10/23-30 were more than we bargained for so instead of MNSSHP we will be doing MVMCP in December.

I suggest you really look at what days MNSSHP is being offered. We were scheduled to go to the party the 8th of this year, but my daughter came down with the stomach flu. I was really dissapointed, as I had pre-purchased my tickets. So, I started calling ticket services to see what could be done. They were really helpful and changed my tickets to the night of the 17th. While on the phone with them, they commented that someone was really going to benefit from our unfortunate situation, as MNSSHP had sold out for the 8th. With our cancelling our tickets for the evening, now four more others could go. I was really surprised the 8th had sold out! I didn't know that there were some other events going on that popped the interest in MNSSHP, like huge confrences, races, and being on a weekend, so locals were interested in attending. There were several people who did attend that night who were not thrilled with the event. They felt it was crowded. We seemed to have lucked out, because when we attended the 17th, it was excellent. No crowds to speak of, great fireworks, an amazing parade and fun trick-or-treating. It was well worth the rescheduling difficulties!!

So, my advice is to just check out what else is going on that might affect the night you chose. You will have a great time!!

We went Halloween night and had so much fun! We tried something different this time. I have kids age 6 and 9 so we took a nap that afternoon. The crowds really thin out after the fireworks (9:30). So we stayed until midnight, walked on Splash and Big Thunder. The place really emptys and since it was the last party, they were very free with the candy. So we walked away with more candy then we would ever eat (we still have our Easter candy).

We were there on the 31st. It was fairly crowded - but not overwhelming. The lines for the trick-or-treat stations were quite long and slow, so that took up a lot of our time. We ate dinner at the CP with Pooh and the gang and that was a lot of fun too. However even with our PR we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated.

Overall it was a lot of fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

We were there on the 24th and it was great. The longest wait was our PS at LTT (waited 30 min). Everything else was pretty much walk on or 5 minute wait. We took so many pictures with characters and we still missed a lot of them! Trick or treating was also in and out. The fireworks and parade were really good. Overall, it was a great experience and we plan on making this a tradition... definitely worth it!

Seems like everyone who was at the 24th party has indicated so in this thread. :) I say that because the crowd was so light that night. After reading trip reports from MHSSHP during the first half of the month, I was prepared for massive crowds. But, the 24th was just the opposite. The second Parade played to a near vacant town square. We took our regular spot just past the starting point in front of the firehouse. There were so few people along the route from there, all the way around past Tony's. It was unbelievable. We, too, had no waits for anything, saw everything, maneuver easily to a good spot for the fireworks, participated in a couple of shows/storytellers, and got an enormous load of "good" candy - better than in prior years. And, the family photo was better than in prior years it seemed. It was our best MNSSHP amongst the 4 years that we have attended.
