1. How long did it take you to get from the airport to your resort via DME?
2. Do you share the bus with people going to more than just "your" resort?
3. We are landing in Orlando at 7.35pm on a Friday night. Will it be crowded and should I expect it to take longer?
4. How long did it take for you to get your bags in your room?

Our flight out of Philly on SW landed at 7:35pm. We had to take our luggage with us since last minute I made resort changes and DME did not have time to issue new yellow luggage tags. So stopping at baggage claim added time for us. We were at our resort about an hour after landing, maybe sooner.

You will need to go down to the bottom floor to pick up DME. When you get off the elevator you make a U-turn to your right and the cm's are right there directing you to the correct lines which are also labeled. The bus will stop at other resorts, but since your WL, you might be first. You can probably find out the resort drop off line up on the transportation board. But all in all, it is a good working system. You will be at your resort in about an hour after landing. Best of all, it is free! Another hundred dollars in your purse!

I don't think it will matter about coming in on a Friday. The buses are big and hold a lot of people.

It took me 53 minutes from the time I got into the DME line until I was dropped off at CBR.

Yes. DME groups together up to 4 resorts in one bus. The bus I was in went to three, and I was lucky and was the first stop. One thing there's been a lot of misinformation about is the order of drop offs. The fact is, there are no set routes or groupings, and there is no set order of drop offs. That being said, a DME driver has posted numerous times that Disney's instructions are, for any given group of resorts on one bus, to drop off starting with the resort closest to MCO, and so on. Makes good sense. He has also said that beyond that there are instructions to drop off Deluxe-resort guests first, although he noted that some drivers may ignore that rule so they don't have to hear complaints from guests who may notice they are driving right by their own resort to go to another one first.

3. We are landing in Orlando at 7.35pm on a Friday night. Will it be crowded and should I expect it to take longer?

Sorry, I have no idea.

4. How long did it take for you to get your bags in your room?

I traveled on May 8, the 4th day of DME operations. My bags arrived about 4 hours after I did. We didn't care because we packed everything we needed for the first 24 hours in our carry-ons, and when our bags "magically appeared" in our room we were at the pool enjoying the start of our vacation. You'd be surprised how little space you need to have what you need. For us and the kids we packed a change of clothes, PJs, swimsuits, medications, snacks, etc.

We just got back yesterday and used DME. It took about an hour to get to the hotel, and our bags beat us to the room. We were at the Yacht Club and shared a bus that went in the following order. Carribean Beach was stop one, Boardwalk was stop 2, Beach Club was stop 3 and Yacht Club was stop 4. The return was just the opposite, Yacht Club first, Beach Club second, Boardwalk third and then Carribean Beach was last and off to the airport and it took about an hour and 15 minutes on the way back hope that helps.

Yes, thank you, it does. I am now wondering where I will be dropped off on my return to the airport. I will be flying SWA.

1) If I remember correctly about 45 minutes/ 1 hour. Now this may "seem" long, but take into account the 20 minute or so drive from MCO to WDW and add a stop or two at other resorts! It wasn't bad at ALL!
2) Yes our bus stopped at Saratoga Springs and then stopped at our hotel (POFQ)
3) It shouldn't be crowded at all! We arrived at about 11am and other then the "slight rush" of people from our flight who came right after us ....there was no line!
4) We got to the resort a little after 12pm/12:30pm and our bags were in our room when we got it around 4pm! (We could have taken a room but we decided to wait for the location we wanted)

.... to add to our experience.

My sister and her boyfriend did DME last week and it was flawless for them! They originally started at POP and their bus went directly to POP! Their luggage was in their room (even though they had a bad experience with their room ...i.e...DIRTY). Coming back to MCO they said it was the same fast service!

For SWA you should be dropped of on the A side towards the middle. Once you have claimed your luggage from the driver you'll need to go to the 3rd level for airline check-in.
OKW should be one of the first stops, depending on what resorts are on the bus with you.

do you happen to know the order?

I just wrote in the post immediately before yours that there is no set order of resort groupings on DME buses, and there are no set routes. It's a dynamic situation based upon demand and need. That means there's absolutely no way to know who you'll be on a bus with and in what order you'll be dropped off. For instance, an earlier poster said their route stopped at CBR, Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Yacht Club, and in the reverse on the way back. When I took DME to CBR, we were the first stop, to be followed by one of the All Stars and then finally Animal Kingdom Lodge. On the way back to MCO, an empty DME bus arrived to pick us up, and we (a 3/4 full bus) were the only stop.

We used DME at the end of May. We hadn't received out yellow tags ahead of time so I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived in Orlando. But we had a great experience. We were off the plane by 10:00 am, and standing in our room at Pop Century by 11:00 am. We headed to AK and were on the Safari by 12:00 pm. LOL

Not sure when our bags arrived. We didn't come back to the room until later on that night but they were there waiting for us. HTH Rebecca
