For those who have tried the Magic Bands

My magic bands arrived the other morning and just have a couple of questions. I know that they were "folded" to fit inside the Incredibles box but that is how they are staying. Will they become more "wrist form fitting" with your body heat or usage? It's kind of folding out and not comfortable. Love the colors though.

I cannot find an area on MDE to link credit card or is that done when I arrive? Reservation, FP+, dining reservations, AP are all linked. Also, still cannot reserve parades. I am not given the option for parades or will that be available closer to my arrival date?

Can you let a can of soup or something similar "wear" the band for a few days? Maybe that will "iron out the wrinkles".

Your credit card gets linked when you check-in, either online or at the front desk.

AFAIK, FP+ options for parades are still in the testing stage and are not available for all dates. Some have speculated that they are only being tested on select weekends or by invitation.

Just keep checking every so often - they may become available to you closer to arrival.

Yes, the bands will open up a bit. The can of soup idea a previous poster had was a good one.

Our bands are pretty much the same shape they were when we got them in July. Just as awkward and uncomfortable. I have seen other people say how comfortable the bands are to them though so I think it is a wrist issue not a band issue.

We check in 11/27 and were bake to customize our bands and pick FP about a week ago.

Are you staying on site and have you already purchased tickets?

Yes, OKW with an AP. I already have my FP+ done, but when I click on customize magic bands, it takes me nowhere...only to the add a magic band to the profile page.

EDIT: Well, the My Disney Experience hasn't been taking me to that page, until now. It just let me in to order and customize! Yay!

That'll store it on your MDE account. Then when you do online check-in, you can select that card to be tied to the room/bands.

Does the magic band have to be worn on the wrist or can you like feed it thru your belt loop??

We watched people wrestling with using the bands all last week with a 50/50 success rate. I wondered if they shouldn't be worn so 'reader' is on the inside of the wrist. Having it on the outside is awkward.

I wear the boys bands on my purse, wearing on pant loops would work as well.

I did this but now I want to change to a different card. Can I do this online or do I have to call MS?

I don't know what type of problem you are having with the bands...But if its too big for you, the color section will pop out of the gray section. I had to do that cause my wrist is very tiny and now they fit much better.

During on-line check-in, you can either use the card from your MDE profile (can only be stored in your profile from the MDE website) or manually enter a different card. If you enter a different card, it will ask you if you want to replace the one in your profile with the manually entered one.

Ok got the magic band and programed 1 day only to test ....but saw no option for the fireworks or parade only rides? where do they show up.

FastPass+ for parades and fireworks do not appear on all days. You may only see them available on weekends.

When are you traveling? If it is very soon then they may be all booked up (if you have checked all the days) or if it is later then they are not releasing them until about 3 weeks out from what people have been seeing so you should check back every now and then.

Ok thank you that explains it....we arrive next Wed and I only looked at Epcot on Wed. usually limit our time in the parks on Weekends..but zipping in for fireworks or night time parade I might do. See all this planning is stressing me..I do not want to think about that. We just usually get up look at weather etc pick were we are going or go to bus stop and first bus that come. I just can't get into this planning thing.
I booked the FP+ on arriving day at BWV at Epcot cause I can just walk over and test this whole thing out...

Well Epcot only has Illuminations and if you have a Chase card, you could just go over to the lounge at the American Adventure and get wristbands for their area for Illuminations. That might be easier and then you could do FP+ for Soarin, test track and something else.

I see Illuminations available on Sat Oct 12th. Not sure if that is helpful but it is there.
