how long did it take from the time you submitted your request until the listing appeared on the website? also, how long from time of someone's bid until the sale closed?

thanks!

Posted the same day and still waiting to pass ROFR. Sold after about 2 and a half weeks on the board (last week).

I don't remember the exact timing, but my recollection was that it was listed within 24 hours and once we had an offer closing was less than 30 days -- including Disney ROFR which was about half of that.

There are many variables in the closing process that The Timeshare Store does not control, such as timliness of both parties returning paperwork, Disney ROFR.

I have bought twice and sold once with the assistance of The Timeshare Store. They have been professional and prompt.

It was listed 3 days after we sent them back the info they requested. It was sold the first day it was listed. It took almost 3 weeks for Disney to pass on right of first refusal. We are still waiting on closing. We got the word last Friday that Disney passed on ROFR. It has been a very painless process. If I had know how painless it was, I would have used them for the last couple of add-ons we purchased at the BWV. We sold our small contract at the BCV, which is very easy to sell these days. We prefer the BWV and wanted all our contracts at the same place.

We sold 1 contract around 9/11 and that one was sold in a week. We have sold 4 others in the last year or so and all those were sold within 24 hours. Some closings came in less time than others and on one contract they had 2 buyers before someone serious bought it so that one took a little longer start to finish. They do work hard with buyers and have waiting lists. We solicited once with them as a buyer and they have lists they put you on and make calls down the line till someone grabs it. That's why most of ours were gone in an hour. If you want it gone quick and price it reasonable it will be gone in a blink with TSS.

I'm afraid our 190 points in reservation status (to be used by 9/07) may be holding ours up. We're offering to pay all closing costs and throwing in our 2 deluxe DVC tote bags (whoo-hooo) to help it along, but nothing yet. What as prospective buyers would be the most eye catching to you in a for sale ad (other than low per point price)?

As a prospective buyer I am looking for a contract that has not been stripped. For example, if I am buying a 200 point contract with a December UY, I expect all of the 200 December 06 points to be available. It would be even better if the contract has 2005 points booked. I would definitely not be interested in a contract with no use year points available in the year I made the purchase.

It generally takes a few days for the reseller to confirm with Disney what you really own and list it.

I had to send in some approval that gave my broker the right to confirm my membership info with Disney. I can understand that, they don't want to take my word that I own 100 points and haven't borrowed next years.

When I purchased resale, I did not even consider making an offer on a stripped contract, it would have to be priced right at the ROFR point for me to think aboutl.

Closing took about a month on my sales and purchases.

We didn't make it through ROFR---Disney bought the contract that we wanted back

We immediately turned around and are trying to buy another---same resort, VWL---cost more---but it's where we want to be....pixie dust, please!

I'm also very interested in this .... as I am getting ready to sell through the Timeshare Store. Any more info on some of these questions?

From the time we listed our VB points to the time we received our check in the mail it was right around 37 days....which we thought was great. Just sent in the papers to list our HHI points on Tuesday and it's listed on the site as of yesterday. Hope this sale goes as fast as the first one! :sunny:

We submitted the sales paperwork and our listing appeared the next day. We sold 250 BCV points, I want to think about 50 of them were used, the rest were banked into the next use year which actually began in under 60 days, so it was a pretty sweet deal for someone who really wanted to go all out on their first visit.

We got a stupidly lowball offer--I think around $70--which never would have passed ROFR a day or so later, and passed. About two weeks later we lowered the price $2 per point and immediately had an offer that we accepted.

DVC refused ROFR in only about a week.

But we never got the closing package. About three weeks after we found out DVC had passed, we got a call asking if we were going to send the paperwork back. We told them we hadn't gotten it, and made arrangements to actually visit their office later that day to sign everything. So it was about six weeks, although probably should have only been about four, maybe a bit longer.

ducklite- I'm sorry you're disappointed with something, I'm really not sure what. As far as your closing paperwork, it comes from the title company. Was it lost in the mail, sent to the wrong address, I don't know? I do know that when it was realized there was a problem, it was corrected. What more could we do???

Are you upset that your selling price was lower than you hoped? My staff tries to give everyone the best advice based on their experience, assuming the seller really wants to sell their product. Are we right 100% of the time? NO! But I'd put our track record up against any other company out there. Some things are just out of our control, purchasers offers, seller's acceptance, & Disney's ROFR.

More than anything we want happy sellers and happy buyers. We really want you to come away with a positive experience after dealing with us.

Sincerely,
Tom & Staff

I sent in documents Tuesday, the contract was listed Wednesday at 4 and at 5:30 I got the offer for the asking price. (50 HH points)

We started our second bid on VWL on the Friday before Labor Day, by Tuesday TTS had gotten the sellers agreement and the contract was submitted for ROFR. Can't say enough about the good folks at TTS.
