For those who have ridden Mummy...

Two things stand out for me: the short backwards bit....that's really neat, figuring most coasters you don't go backwards.

Also, the fire roof. The ceiling above you is lit on fire. It's awesome!!

Creepy Poltergeist Woman making an appearance in the pre-show video, or Twitchy Mummy Reggie.

Ghostly swoosh, Poltergiest lady, Plummy, etc...

Legit reason: extreme airtime pop after launch.

What kind or ride is it? We're trying to decide if we should hit Universal this year. We haven't been in 2 summers so we're due back. Does it compare to Rock N Rollercoaster?

It's much better than RnRC because it has show scenes. Plus, the bright flash Mummy ghosts in the coaster part are a lot better than the cardboard cutouts in RnRC.

I guess I should have gone through the regular line but my son did not want to ride and they told me to just use the child swap.
Legit reason: extreme airtime pop after launch.
Twice if I recall correctly.

There are three, but the first is the best.

Other than getting a bruise on my elbow from the launch turn part, it was soooooooo much fun!!!! I loved the last little turn at th end after the fire room. Don't know why....just looked like it was this REALLY steep drop.

Where did you get bruised?? :(- does the car turn to the right or the left after the drop- I can prepare my boys so they can try to brace themselves and not get bruised-

TIA ::MinnieMo

You go up the hill and then turn to the left and make a SHARP turn to the right and that's where I got it!!! I hit the seat next to mine and it was right on my elbow.

I enjoyed the launch a lot...I dont remeber all of it....went by so fast..LOL...and the drop at the end was cool too..

OK...sorry off topic, but Dax I LOVE your dogs!!! I'm getting myself a pug one of these days.

Back to the Mummy...I really don't like the bug part though. Eck!! It's gross.

Is it officially open or still in test phase? Also, is it completed?

It won't be officially open until May 21st. That is the day going around then. Until then, the ride will be in technical rehearsals when opened. Not sure if it was open today, but it was open yesterday. It is not completed yet, and probably won't be until much closer to the grand opening date (May 21st), they still need to install the animatronics and hopefully tweak some of the effects.

Here's a couple "tweaks" I would like to see, a couple of these suggestions were in place when I rode last Monday, but not during the weekend.

1- Water effects in Treasure Room. They need to be amped up, I enjoyed getting semi-soaked, the misting going on their this weekend was weak (not that this makes or breaks a ride, I just enjoyed the random spurts of water)

2- Tactile Effect in scarab Room. The addition of water here is great, but it would be cool to see (or feel) a little more here)

3- Fog at top of launch hill. Was there on Friday. I thought it was a cool effect, I missed it this weekend (except for 2 go arounds on Sunday)

4- Fake unload needs to be fleshed out a bit more, maybe the animatronic will help a bit.

oh yeah, I'm with Keriann about the bug part...eek! Every time I go on that, I scream at that part...I have a TERRIBLE fear of bugs....if I see just one, I'll scream....imagine the thought of hundreds...yuck!!!!! It's first the screen of bugs, then seeing them spill out in front of me, then the water spraying...each time I scream like I've never seen it before. Sorta pathetic...but I can't help it... I've ridden Mummy 10 to 12 times...and still, everytime.... *scream* last couple times I thought about it so much, I literally got chills down my spine.

Keriann - which elbow did you get a bruise on? I got up this morning to find...a bruise on my left elbow.  My mom reminded me about you getting your bruise, and found it sorta funny. I don't remember when I got it though...

How many riders to a car? My DD(6), the "daredevil", will ride anything, but I feel better if I can sit next to her and I usually put my hand on her knee whether she wants me to or not!!

Great, thanks! We'll all be able to ride together!!
Michele
