We're also looking at AKV - either 100 or 160 points. We were offered $8 off per point on either, plus 160 "bonus" points (I guess I need to ask if those are restricted). He also said we'd get the 2008 points with no 2008 fees/dues and then our 2009 points in May. I'm trying to figure out if this was a good deal or if we should hold out.

BTW - can anyone tell me if we'd have to use the 2008 points by the end of this year? Not sure how that works.

We financed for 10 years but we plan to pay it off much sooner. Your incentives are the same as mine. Your $8 per point discount is applied towards your down payment. The 160 bonus points are only able to be used at SSR, DL or Interval International and they have to be used by Oct 2009. We get our 160 AKV points in december and they expire Dec 2009 but you are able to bank them like any other points. Your points go on "Use Years" which means you have 1 year from issue date to use or bank them.

Just paid the downpayment on 200 points at AKV, and am waiting on the documents in the mail.

Down payment: $15,000 (We've been saving for a while)

Payment: $340s for one year

Can't wait!!!!!

The visa card comes standard if you were referred by another DVC member. There are some threads going around the DVC forums for people looking for referrals.

Paid cash, though charged on a credit card and split it into two payments. One the month of Sept and the other Oct. We just closed yeterday.

200 developer points, 2008 points to be banked until after 5/09
and $8/per point.
We did not get a gift card though. I think that promotion must have come out after we bought. Even though we did have a referral from a friend. Any idea if we could still ask for it?

I just bought on 10/5/08.
AKV - 200 points
Incentives: 200 developer points, $8 off per point, and no dues until May 2009 (I did not qualify for $500 gc, as it is not available is Alaska).
Paid all but $10,000 of it, which I financed through Disney on a 10 year loan for $136/month (I will pay that off within the next year or 2 most likely).
