In order to reach 240,000 points are you getting flawless on nearly every firework? I am pretty good at getting at least "awesome" and I still can't get above 215,000 (220,000 if I am real lucky).

I am determined to earn this stupid pin

 its pretty hard for me to get to 240,000 also but i manage :earsgirl: just click the firework when you see the star and you'll get flawless, every firework counts! :cheer2:

well, i do try to click the firework when I see the star, but I am still only able to get right around 215,000. UGH, I am so frustrated with this game :( (Oh, and don't even get me started on the others, sigh)

:earsgirl: VMK games can be quite challenging ::MinnieMo have no fear practice makes perfect :cheer2: just relax and think of getting those fireworks! :cheer2: you can do it

Keep Trying. At the beginning I was onlyable to get to 3 round if I was lucky. Then I got on and finally was able to get over 200,000 easily but never much farther. Highest I got on average became 207,000. The tonight I had I heart breaker 23934. could I get much closer to the pin. But I never thought I would have a hope to win this myself. And now I will keep trying because there is hope. I was just one good star away. Just one good star. Ugh. But I know I can do it now. So keep uo the good work and trying.

Not to be a party pooper but if I wait for the white star, it's too late for me to click the firework. Slow computer issue I suppose. I do better if I try to click the firework just as the little orange spark things that trail behind it get really close. Now this advice is probably not worth anything as I don't do very well at fireworks at all.

I had hit a plateau with fireworks, scoring between 210,000-220,000, when I decided that I had to change something I was doing.

First, I shut off any extra programs running on my computer that might slow it down a bit. I fiddled with the colors in my display setting and changed that from 32 to 16. If I have been on the internet for an extended period of time, I will often clear the cache before logging onto vmk. I guess what I'm saying is do anything you can to optimize the speed of your computer. I also changed out my mouse for a new one that we had on hand (same style, but maybe a little fresher). A wireless mouse may be "slower" than a wired mouse.

I thought maybe I had developed some habits/ways of clicking at the fireworks that were not very accurate. I don't try to position the cursor directly over the firework now--there is an area of effectiveness (perimeter) around the cursor that allows for the same score as if the cursor was directly over the firework when clicked. I can keep my cursor a little to the right of the firework so that I can see the actual timing of the star flash better. I also changed the amount of pressure I use on the mouse button when I click. I used to click quickly with a light touch. Now I use a more firm press of the mouse button. I think by doing this I gain the extra fraction of a second that makes the difference between awesome and flawless. I do click a lot lighter and quicker when there is a large volley of fireworks at the same time, like at the end of the game.

Then I realized that I had developed the habit of scrolling through the fireworks symbols from left to right, using the right arrow key. Actually, sometimes it is faster to get to the correct symbol by scrolling "backwards," using the left arrow key. I can now judge which arrow (right or left) to press so I get to the next symbol by the fastest route.

Also, be aware that there is a difference in how fast each of the colors of fireworks detonates. I have identified what I consider to be three different speeds. For example, the slowest fireworks to detonate are the pink, green and yellow. The fastest are the last two colors on the right, the teal and blue. The other colors are kind of average in speed. Other people may have different observations of course, but being aware of the detonation speed helped me a lot.

Try to get rid of any distractions that may be going on around you when you play fireworks. Lol, I have "kicked" my kids out of the room, turned down the tv, shut off the ceiling fan, etc.

Lastly, as the others have said, it just takes a lot of practice. I am no expert and don't get my name on the high scores list, but by making these changes to my method I have improved enough that I have quite a few fireworks magic pins.

You just have to let the star sit for a little extra time (no more than a second, I'd guess) to get flawless. The longer you wait, the more points you get. You may miss one here and there, though.

I try to hit as many of the fireworks I can, even if I only get good--better to get some points than no points. If there are two that shot up at the same point, I click one right away, and then go for a flawless on the others.

I'd sugget just keep on trying to wait a second when you see a star to try to get them up to flawless. You may miss a few, but eventually, you'll be comfortable with it.

And keep on practicing :)

Yes you need to hit as many as possible at flawless or you just cant make it to the 240,000 point. In the first couple of stages fireworks come pretty much one at a time there is the point you should practice waiting for the star to appear before clicking. Once you get good at that start trying it in later levels.

Just remember when things are fast and furious in the later levels that its better to get 5 goods than to get 4 flawless and 1 miss. so dont wait to long when there are multiple fireworks going off at once.

The farthest I have ever gotten,is level 3! :rotfl2:

I do play it some, but I always wiush that they could make a room out of the window on level 5.

Thanks everyone! I will keep trying. It is truly frustrating, arggghhh... I am just determined to "win" something.

I can definitely get flawless in the first and second round. After that I am usually only at awesome with some flawless. 220,000 is about my best score to day (LOL).

Will keep you posted. I am determined to earn the prize on one of these games..... I have even thought about Pirates yet, LOL.

I earn them with each mule within 2-3 games, provided that I am bleessed with someone better than me playing.

I consistantly get 235,000 - 245,000, but if you win, you don't get the magic.

I get Flawless on a majority, some awesomes, and even miss a few completely every game.

For those of you who want the magic, and would rather trade for it, I am a fair trader and usually have at least one fireworks magic available.

good! :rotfl: pirates is fun and easy don't worry only takes about 30-40minutes if you win each round (which isn't that hard) :earsgirl: good luck

Just keep on believing your dreams will come true:
Tip if you have a slow computer it is strangely Easier to get 1000, i have tested this and reached a conclusion

Everyone has given you some great tips on how to achieve that elusive magic pin! For me, sometimes I have to turn the music off. If I hum along with it, then I will miss a lot of fireworks. Although I can tell you this, when you do get that first pin, all the pressure you have put upon yourself, it will magically disappear. You will hit that 240 grand mark on a consistent basis! And you will definitely love those credits that accompany that score! Oh yeah, and playing each night with the same people makes it that much sweeter. By this time you can truly enjoy the game with your friends. Give them a try and you will find your own pacing with what works best for you. Best of luck in the game and I hope to see you out there.

I had to get almost all flawless (because I missed a few). If you don't miss any and you get all awesome, maybe it might be 240,000. OR maybe mostly flawless and some awesome.
